Assuming Jimmy Garoppolo is healthy after the bye, what should we do?

Keep him on the bench. Lance needs the reps
In that game Trey was way better moving the ball than Jimmy. Not even close. 10/15 drives past mid field? The oline purposely held as part of George Brittle's protect Jimmy plan
Not an easy decision. Jimmy's making the big money so do you want $27 million on the bench. He probably gives them the best shot at winning but if they don't win they're wasting valuable learning time for Trey. Do you go with the QB of the future or the QB of the past? Which ever way they go I'm sure the fans will be against it if it doesn't work.
At the start of year it was quite clear for me we would start Jimly the all season as he was our best asset at QB to help us win
with this team going nowhere (we'll miss the playoffs) it's time to give the rookie valuable playong time so year two we are contenders

You mean trade him right. There's no way you keep $20+ mil on the bench. Even if you don't like the guy.

In all seriousness, whether be it Lance or Jimmy...

This team isn't going to go deep into the playoffs without Better DB and RB execution..

Pass defense gets exploited all the time. Running game is meh.

I actually thought our DB's played way better than they had the past 2 games. Norman got called for a flag and gave up a few catches to Hopkins, but they still did enough for us to get to Murray multiple times and Bosa in on pace for 16 sacks this year. If the D can play like this the rest of the way, get Kinlaw right somehow, some way, get Greenlaw back. Add Jeff Wilson in there with Mitchell and we can get some semblence of competitiveness every game. I want to see a new Aiyuk after the bye. He's got to step up. Those are a lot of ifs, but we're fans. Why not hope for hope's sake in the middle of the season. C'mon, we gotta believe until we're forced to believe in next season. That's why we're the faithful, not the "ehhhh, we might not even beat the Jaguars".

If jimmy started yesterday he would have been sacked 17 times. JJ watt would have killed him.

Jimmy has never been sacked anywhere near close to those numbers. Lol

Right, it's not like Jimmy doesn't help his oline alot with his quick release too, our oline is not elite . Hell even Williams was getting handled yesterday .

They'll be against it if it does work. That's the problem with polarizing over a QB. You're seeing the results of the polarization of Jimmy G spill over after this game.

Fans planted their flag that the problem was Jimmy and Lance would make all those problems go away. They didn't so now Kyle is the problem. It's all over twitter, reddit and a number of people here. Just go look. Even fans who were critical of Jimmy are like, "whoa, wait guys, fire Kyle??? This is crazy". But you're seeing it. Why? Because if people planted a flag that Kyle was being held back by Jimmy and Trey is our Josh Allen, once Jimmy is gone and we don't see a super high octane offense - who do you have to blame? You have to go for the next guy in line - Kyle.

Point being, people are more stuck on being right about a QB than anything, IMO. Wins, losses, good performance, bad performance, all it does is create talking points to prove/disprove theories. If we roll with Jimmy and get eliminated in the 2nd round of the playoffs, you'll have people screaming, "If we had developed Lance, he would've been able to win that game! He can do everything Jimmy does!!!!" If we roll with Lance and get bounced the same way - you'd see the same argument the other way. Short of winning a SB, Kyle is in a losing position with about half the fans.

Seriously I've been harping about OL for a while. This was slowed down to 75% speed.

TREY LANCE PLAYING IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN WINNING THIS SEASON WITH JIMMY!!!!!

Boom! End of Discussion!

Play him. This staff was convinced this was a win now team with Jimmy and its too.soon to give up on that. Its very likely they were wrong but I'm tired of wasted seasons and excuses. I'd rather lose trying to win than to just give the reigns to Lance and then its just another excuse of a season with no first round pick as a consolation.

I agree!!! Jimmy has made some mistakes I admit, but he has also helped this oline look alot better than what it really is.
The Same people who want Jimmy to keep playing this season, will be the same people B*TCHING next season when Trey has ZERO game experience. You can't have it both ways people.

I refuse to not see the big picture like some of you. The kid needs to play!

We've had 5 years to fix this Oline under Kyle. At this point I'm thinking the issue has to be the coaching.
