Assuming Jimmy Garoppolo is healthy after the bye, what should we do?

Why not go legitimate 2 quarter back system kinda like the raider pre-season game. Maybe Jimmy got in Kyle's ear and said he not good with it, however he doesn't have much leverage since he gets hurt so often. At the least, role out Trey for 1-2 drives a game.

I haven't seen anything from Kyle that would suggest JG getting in his ear would change his mind one iota.

Kyle said it in a presser, last week or after GB. They were doing some of that to mess around and try things vs different looks. The 2 qb system was never something they were gonna do.

Staying with Jimmy is just delaying the inevitable. Everyone knows Jimmy's days are numbered. If they Niners were 5-0 or 4-1 and Jimmy hadn't been hurt and he was playing really well then I would be fine not starting Trey. But he did get hurt and he wasn't playing great anyway. Very average to be honest. He has 5 TD passes and is averaging 231 yards per game. I'm thinking Trey could probably be doing better than that with a couple more games under his belt. It may be too early to give up on SB hopes but I don't think it's a strong possibility. they make it. Three of the next 4 games are against relatively easy teams but Indy and Chicago both have pretty good defenses. So do we try and win those games or go with Trey

I'm thinking the stay with Jimmy at least for those 4 games. If they can't win 3 of the 4 then go with Trey. Meanwhile they need to keep feeding him a few more reps with the starters.

Staying with Garoppolo, if this is what Shanahan decides, will tell me a lot in addition to what I already believe about Garoppolo giving this team the better chance to win now.

Garoppolo has been better than "very average" in the first three game & first drive of Game 4. Not great but he's been better than average if you've watched closely as he & the team have averaged 29 ppg. They were 37 seconds away from being 3-0 after he drove them to the go-ahead score vs. GB. I'll take 29 ppg. all day with the promise this defense has showed.

JG drives are more consistent then what Trey has shown in 3 halves of football. His completion percentage is above 65% Trey completed at best 52%. Trey is throwing dumb intercepts and is getting sacked. Jimmy has thrown only 2 intercepts all year. Trey is missing a lot more opportunities that I think Jimmy would have landed.

This is silly.

The offense with Jimmy has not been consistent at all this year. We've had multiple times where we've had 3 straight 3 and outs with Jimmy while 10 of Trey's 15 drives have gone past midfield. Jimmy also has thrown 2 interceptions this year and also has 2 fumbles and also some dropped interceptions. His EAIOEP+EAFP is ridiculously high.
Trey is throwing dumb "intercepts" but Jimmy is not 🤣🤣🤣

What the actual f**k? Throwing it straight to a LB 7 yards in front of you isn't dumb?

And the term is "intercept" as in one. He'll throw more but so far he's only thrown one.

Jimmy only throws smart interceptions, get out of here with this nonsense you speak of.

I agree, playoffs are still in the cards, Kyle isn't worrying about what fans or the media say, he is trying to when games. People forget we have the same record as the Chiefs, the season not over yet

We have no secondary or rb's it's over. With George brittle leading the way and a head coach who's given up well, there you go

The calf injury was fake anyway. It was the only way for Shanahan to demonstrate to fans that Lance was not ready with the ability to go back to Jimmy after a game.

/conspiracy theory

Jimmy throws darts to LB's. Between the numbers
This talk about "the season is gone" is nonsense. This team is still entirely capable of a 10/11 win season or better. That should get them into the playoffs, and a team that gets hot entering the playoffs can do some serious damage there.

Shanahan is not going to chance even a single game to "develop" Lance if he thinks it will hurt their chances of making the playoffs. Kyle has pretty thick skin but he is certainly aware of his past record and time with the 49ers. He MUST win if he is to keep the team and the fan base.

I'm in the 14-3 record crew

Lance is improving with every quarter of football he plays. We should keep starting him and let the offense get used to him. The team looks very close to breaking out and I think we see a winning streak after the bye week.

Regardless of who starts, I can see the team getting a winning streak going with the opponents that are coming up.

Colts and Bears went from easy wins to coin flip games imo
