I've got a great idea that will save millions. Trade our best player for a mid first round draft pick with a history of knee problems. After that let's trade our next two number one draft picks for a QB that hasn't played in over a year. Plus the fact that he never played against Division 1 competition. Add to this drafting someone that took a course with the GM at their alma mater and make him a top pick. Throw in another top draft pick at linebacker with red flags all over him. Whomever is making these decisions is building quite a resume.

This Buckner discussion is really bringing out the whiniest of the fanbase.

Yes Buckner was an ironman, a great pass rushing DT and a terrific locker room guy. I'm sure every single 49ers fan would love to keep him.

Who are you getting rid of out of this group though? Because if we signed Buckner to a deal even close to what the Colts got him for at least one of these players isn't a 49er right now or won't be in the very near future.

As for your b***hing about Trey Lance...maybe hold off on that one until a few years so you don't look ridiculous later on? I had my concerns with Trey and his level of competition was one of them. He may be a rookie and need a lot of growing to do still but we can safely say at this point that the competition jump isn't an issue. He's talented enough to play on this stage.
