But dude was all over this as the replay shows. What does it matter that it's going to be "on his chest" when the DB is in great position to bat it away the entire time?

The ball was just too late and/or didn't have enough on it.

you dont want your qb fitting the ball into tight spaces for completions now? lol that was all on deebo, shoulda caught it

Sanu was wide open on the play. Deebo was not and even if he was, the DB still would have gotten there because there was no velocity on the throw.

Still don't stretch the field f**k me

He will not throw deep. He can't read the field and doesn't trust himself.

This is play calling

Play calling didn't cause Jimmy to throw to a blanketed WR on that pick.

It still hit him in the chest...

DB got a hand in there. Because he was blanketing the WR.

And another guy was WIDE OPEN possibly for a TD.

Defending Jimmy on this is embarrassing.
Yikes

This is every game. Don't do these stills. Will be maddening

The video is posted in the Jimmy thread. The safety cheats way toward Deebo, completely vacating the middle, pre-snap. Simply reading the defense before he even snapped the ball would have told Jimmy the middle was wide open.
I think we need to go 8-3 the rest of the way to sniff the playoffs... with tonight's performance I'm not sure we even go 5-6

That was not on Deebo lol

Huh? Right in his hands and it pops out.

The ball was just too late and/or didn't have enough on it.

It was a bad pre-snap read to begin with. The safety left the middle of the field PRE-snap, and a guy was wide open for a touchdown about 7 yards down the field over the middle.

There's a difference between a tight space and a covered, defended space.

If an arm is literally in the way of the ball being caught --in the way meaning between Deebo and the ball -- why was he supposed to catch it any more than the defender is supposed to bat it away?

It's on the WR to make the arm magically disappear?

Lol I thought I had hope. Thanks!

Deebo looks fantastic. Then he fumbles and ball bounces off his chest. I have mixed feelings about him. But he is practically our whole offense right now. This team is in a real bad place right now.

The ball was just too late and/or didn't have enough on it.

JG just doesn't have the arm power to make those kind of throws. He's more suited to those LoS passes.

There wasn't even a need for a bullet. A better pre-snap read and that's a touchdown. Clip and stills posted in the Jimmy thread.
Deebo definitely should have caught it. Not gonna argue that. Jimmy did himself no favors though by staring him down the entire way. Jimmy made no attempt to actually read the field. He determined the read presnap and that was that. Im sure someone a lot smarter then me can say whether it was a good read or not.
Where to start...let's begin with Jimmy. While conditions were awful, Wentz didn't seem to have the kind of problems JG had. He was, and by a wide margin, the best QB on the field. If Coach doesn't start Lance (assuming he's GTG) next game, I'll lose some faith in him. Any real notions of Jimmy having a great season should vanish after this game.

OL. They played well at times, but overall not the most impressive performance. They need to get Banks in there...he needs to play to truly improve, just like Trey does..

Secondary...they were disgustingly putrid. Wentz and Pittman exploited them repeatedly. Without any kind of sustained serious pass rush, the secondary was exposed big-time. They've got to invest in some genuine cover DB's...guys who can go toe-to-toe with receivers without committing senseless interference fouls.

DL. Outside of Bosa, there wasn't much to be happy about. When you see Street & others pushed 5+ yds downfield you know you have a problem. True, both Kinlaw and Hurst were out, but the others didn't pick up the slack. I'll be happy to see Jordan Willis return...maybe he can give Bosa some genuine help in the pass rush. Ford sure didn't.

WR. If it wasn't for Deebo, we'd have gotten creamed tonight. Still lost by 12 pts, but without Samuel it would've been much worse. Aiyuk's playing scared, at least it seemed like it. They've got to integrate Sanu and Jennings into the offense & take some pressure off Deebo. Coach needs to find a way to get Aiyuk back to the guy we saw last year.

TE. To say they missed Kittle would be the understatement of the year. They really don't have any quality depth at that position. Time to fix that.

On a brighter note, Mitchell is so good. He runs with heart. Love that guy.
Shanahan is no QB guru to begin with even with Mac Jones or Lance playing out there Kyle is not the answer he to scared to go down field his QBs play scared football Jimmy throws ducks Lance don't know how to slide his mechanics are off not accurate and his flaws from Lance is his throwing motion holding on to the football to long Lance isn't ready but I'm tired of seeing Jimmy we had enough of Jimmy ever since the Superbowl run he's been 🗑️ we need to clean house and talent here I want winners players that want to win Singletary chew outs is what this team needs just some one to call them out on their game play

That was all on Jimmy's rookie level ability to read a defense on that play. It was the wrong read, period. The safety vacated the middle of the field pre-snap, and low and behold our WR was wide open for an easy touchdown.

The clip shows the safety moving clear past the left hash pre-snap (in Jimmy thread).
