After this week, I truly believe coaching is the problem.

I love this.

Who are you replacing him with?

Fans love to fire/cut people but rarely have a solution in mind. At least one that makes sense.

I use to be general manager for a dealership and we had this one guy in the parts/service department who would piss off at least one customer a week. It was so bad that when another employee would come in and say there is an upset customer on the phone, we knew who it was about. As a matter of fact he's the only employee that we ever got calls about.

I begged the owner to let me fire him but she would say " But if we fire him who are we going to get to replace him?"

Never was able to fire him and there's no telling how much business was lost due to him.

Bottom line, it's bad for any business to retain a F up because they are scared they can't find someone better.

I believe you give any coach, player a shot to do their jobs but Kyle's had enough time and a pattern is forming, and that pattern is not good.

He does not even acknowledge he is a large part of the problem and is unwilling to adapt or remedy the problems.

I get the analogy but the difference is parts don't have a mind of their own so it sounds like you guys had a person who sucks at dealing with customers in a customer relationship area.

Shanahan definitely has made a mess of things this year but the fact remains that in the NFL offense rules all right now. Josh Allen talked about how the best thing for his development was keeping the same people around after his early struggles. Firing Kyle after we just made that major move for Trey Lance just doesn't make sense.

We absolutely have to see how he does with Lance for a full season. Now if we just completely fall apart here then I don't think Lance saves him but you wouldn't be just getting rid of a f up as you put it...you'd also be f'ing up the players and a young QB in the process.

And let's be honest if we're getting rid of Kyle then we're going through a full blown front office change. No way John Lynch stays behind as GM as we bring in a new HC.

Any time a new coach comes in there are a lot of changes. Personnel changes - the guys Shanahan was high on may not fit the new guy's scheme.

Do we really want a full blown rebuild? We have a lot of young players on this team, do we want all of them having to learn a new scheme?

In your analogy if your boss let you replace him with someone who knows those parts odds are if he's good with customers he'd be an improvement. Players aren't interchangeable parts.

You make that change and the rest doesn't just fall into place IMO. Plus if you get rid of Kyle then unless you bring in another offensive minded HC who can call his own plays, you're in danger of doing the OC shuffle - a QB nightmare.
Kyle has no clue what he's doing anymore.

over hearing him talk and explain things.

Just admit you're over your head and you have no clue how to get yourself out of this hole you dug.
The people who are saying "WHO WILL YOU REPLACE KYLE SHANAHAN WITH IF YOU FIRE HIM" are hilarious. That isn't your responsibility to hire anyone. That is the franchise who is actually paid to find another head coach to actually win on a consistent basis. Your silly recommendations will not matter at the end of the day.

Ok but it's your responsibility to fire him?

Regardless of what you and others want to believe Kyle Shanahan is very highly respected around the league and he would have a job the same offseason we'd fire him.

This league runs on offense now. Kyle Shanahan is one of the best minds in the business when it comes to offense. If you're letting him go then you sure as hell better have someone equally or even more qualified than him.

This stuff is webzone personified. Fans call for players to be cut regardless of how little they cost or if they even take up a roster spot. The first solution is cut or fire.

I understand where you are coming from and I know Kyle will get at least one more year from Jed, but the main point is if an employee or coach or player is detrimental to the company you can't be scared to let them go for fear of not finding something better.

It's a crap shoot either way. Kyle gets 2 more years and he does not right the ship, then you clean out the front office two years behind from where you were if you cleaned house two years ago.

On the other hand,he may right the ship in those two years and everything is peaches & cream.

I have believed in him since he's been here until the 4 game loosing streak and I slowly started having doubts. Then after Chicago I still wasn't convinced the team was about to magically go on the upswing, then the AZ game happened and he lost me completely.

Not due to that one game but adding up all the other factors in along with it such as drafting players to sit on the bench, gets away from what's working, penalties, poor execution & discipline on both sides of the ball, lackluster motivater, not taking any blame.

I give him a pass last year because no coach could have done much more with that many players out. However, it is a good chance this year's team may have a worse record than last year's,or not far from it, with less injured players.

So for these reasons Uhmmahan has lost me personally. The only way I would be convinced that he's a great HC is for him to string at least 5-6 winning seasons together but based on his whole body of work I doubt he can string 2 winning seasons together.

What has his offensive genius gotten us the last four years other than a ton of losing and wasted potential? I don't think he gets fired unless Lance sucks NEXT YEAR but if they're not atleast thinking ahead at this point they're completely inept as a front office/ownership team. Wins and Losses are the only thing that matter and right now Kyle is a loser who has squandered away countless picks in the draft, he refuses to realize that these injured players he keeps bringing in and holding on to are making us weak and unreliable and he's not developing the ones he drafted who are actually healthy

This has to be your shortest post ever
Lol
If we get blown out by the rams we might actually see someone get canned. I can't stand Demeco's whack ass defense. They can't even tackle anymore

I remember when we hired Tomsula I wanted them to lose so he'd get canned. First time I've ever rooted against my team. If they get blown out (I hope we win) I hope demarco is gone. The defense is absolutely crap. I look at a team like the ravens who have a lot of injuries and they still play well. Yes they lost tonight but they are still 6-3 not 3-5.
