I've been pretty optimistic about making the playoffs but honestly this team doesn't deserve to be in the playoffs. Once Russel Wilson comes back I assume they will surge to the 7 seed.

Dang, didn't realize Russ can come back this week. And the Packers might not have Aaron back by then. I believe he can be back with the team on Saturday.... but him with no practice is still better than Jordan Love. So Aaron will probably start...but might be rusty vs the Seahawks and a pumped up Wilson.

We'll see.

So Rodgers missed a game and is going to be "Rusty" but Wilson has missed more than 1 game but will be "pumped up". This makes 0 sense.

Rodgers can't practice or be around the team this week.

Wilson can practice this week.

So that's what I meant. Going into that game with no real practice/preparation for the Seahawks.

But yes believe me, I hope Wilson is the one who will be russty. I hope they get blown out.

There were a lot of optimism at the start of the season but the injuries continue. Seems like the 49er's have more than their share of injuries year in and year out.
It was OK when they had a good DC and quality players who could fill in when things got tough. But trade away one of your best defensive player and lose one of the better Defensive coaches around and this is what you get.

I still think that DEFENSE is the key to winning games consitently. Lose that and it doesn't matter how good the offense is when they're getting outscored!
Think back in the Dan Marino and Dan Fouts era. They were GREAT quarterback who could score a ton of points! The problem was they had terrible defenses!

In regards to Shanaahan, someone said it the other day ... Do we have another Norv Turner in our hands? Turner was a very good offensive coach but a LOUSY Head coach. This is beginning to prove to be the case. He better find himself a quality DC or he will find himself out the door! BTW, when does his contract expire?

Looking at it, I expect the Saints to slowly drop off....and the only threats for the 6th and 7th seeds to be the Falcons and Vikings.

The Falcons seem to be the team to reach... The Vikes have a team that can play anywhere, and have had a tough schedule (check that, their whole season is tough). So maybe the Vikes slip up as well. Falcons have had an easy schedule, but will face tougher teams going forward. We have games against both of them. If we can at least win those two games, we might have a small chance, if we win our other winnable games.

I love you. You know that. But there AIN'T NO f**kING WAY WE ARE GOING TO THE PLAYOFFS. We had to make a move YESTERDAY. We failed. Repeat after me, "We are smelly pigs. Wait, that's not right. Ah yes, I remember. WE ARE NOT A GOOD FOOTBALL TEAM. WE ARE NOT AN AVERAGE FOOTBALL TEAM. WE ARE A BAD, but not heinous, FOOTBALL TEAM." Bad football teams, lose games they really should win. You know who wins those games? Good football teams do. WE ARE NOT GOOD. WE ARE BAD. Not terrible, but bad enough to be stuck in NFL purgatory. I hope, though, that we start winning enough to get to .500. If we do that, we have a chance next year as it will be clear to most of us that we have worked towards righting the ship.

Again, for you f**kers who lack patience and reading desire, WE ARE A BAD FOOTBALL AMERICANO TEAM. WE ARE NOT GOOD. GOOD BEAT OUR ASS YESTERDAY. IT WASN'T LUCK, IT WAS THAT THEY ARE A WELL COACHED, WELL DISCIPLINED, FOOTBALL AMERICANO TEAM. WE LOST TO A GOOD TEAM. WE ARE SO FAR REMOVED FROM GOOD THAT EVEN AVERAGE SEEMS "GOOD". WE ARE NOT AVERAGE. WE ARE BAD.

A pretty picture that doesn't include the 49ers in 2021.
I don't even want to think about playoffs after yesterday. Anything can happen but this team is currently bad. It's a talented bad team.
Weird no one is calling for the team to tank for a high pick this year...oh wait...
No playoffs for this team. LOL.
vs Rams: We don't have any chance to compete against them if players keep make the same mistakes. LOSE
at Jaguars: Jaguars are improving as a team while 49ers won't fix their issues WIN maybe
vs Vikings: They can compete with anybody so I doubt they will be an easy game. LOSE
at Seahawks. Russell comes back and maybe they add OBJ. Not a chance. LOSE
at Bengals. They're deflating after a good season start but still are competing with high level attitude. LOSE
vs Falcons. Also improved on both sides of ball and are eager to clinch playoffs. LOSE
at Titans. Gonna be an ugly Thursday. LOSE
vs Texans. Lets see who flops this game. WIN maybe
at Rams. McVay can rest his players but still gonna whoop our butt. LOSE

2021 final record: 5-12

Well, we own the tiebreaker so we have that going for us.

I'm not giving up on season until we are eliminated. Offense still has promise. Intense remedial coaching needed on Defense. Still a chance to put it together.

I am with you WestCoast. Half way though the season and it is not unprecedented to go from 3-5 to playoffs. The extra playoff spot and parody in this league, we still have a shot at the playoffs. Although team is undisciplined and looking like s**t right now. The Kittle and Aiyuk fumbles killed us early on and the inability to get turnovers (Warner let that slip away yesterday) is killing us too.

I like your spirit but how in the world can either of you even have hope that this team can make the playoffs when they can't even beat a backup QB (who was 8-22) with starters out across the board, at home?

Kyle has shown no signs of turning the team around and continues to do and say the same old things.

Bad coaching will continue and so will the losses. We will be lucky to win 2-3 more games all year.

Now the news that McGlinchey is out for the rest of the season. No matter what you think of McGlinchey. he's better than his backups. We saw what happened yesterday when he went out.
denial denial denial. 2021 will go down as the year of denial in 49ers fans history.

Hopefully they move Brunskill back to tackle.

I'll call your Murray (who we almost beat last time), Hopkins (who we almost beat last time), and Watt (who we almost beat last time) and raise you..

- Verrett
- Ward
- Greenlaw
- Kinlaw
- Tartt
- Ford
- Jimmy
- Gould
- Williams
- Mostert
- Wilson Jr.

Backup QB's have been winning games all season -- why are peeps crying like big babies over this? :)

Though this team has the talent to compete (save for the banged up and s**tty secondary) this team is disoriented from top to bottom. Don't know what it is but only Kyle Shanahan can fix it and I doubt he can :(.

Both of us are better than compton. I think Moore will do fine if they play him.
