Cowherd said something the other day about the Cowboys having impact players in every unit on the team. I started thinking about the Niners and we just don't have enough impact players.
QB- Jimmy is serviceable but not a true impact guy
RB- Mostert was but obviously he's out. Mitchell looks pretty good.
WR- Deebo is an impact player because he runs so well after the catch. Book is still out on Aiyuk.
TE- Kittle is a huge impact player but has trouble playing more than a few games in a row.
OL- One impact lineman in Trent Williams.
DL- One impact player in Bosa
LB- Not a bad group when Greenlaw is in there but I wouldn't call any of them an impact player. Nobody creating turnovers or getting sacks.
DB- the worst group on the team. Nobody close to an impact player.
Bottom line is we have 4 impact players on the team and 2 have had problems with injuries. This team just does't have enough play makers especially in the defensive backfield. Al of us tha tare old enough to remember know that the DBs were responsible for the Niners first SB win. They terrorized the league creating turnovers and giving a young Joe Montana good field position.

Yet the Patriots seem to rebuild or re load year after year with no name players and lack of impact players. This Sundays loss was to a team that had injuries to the whole OL, the starting QB, two star WR's. So lets not use the injury excuse. Coach Shannahan and Lynch are paid the beyond big bucks to win...
To not adjust to screen passes or stack the box to force colt mccoy to pass.

I agree, but it sure helps when you have playmakers all over the field.
Those of you that follow the Warriors saw how they rebuilt after winning those titles. Durant left, Iguadola and some other key bench guys moved on and they lost their big men. Klay got injured and all they had was Curry and a bunch of guys. They still managed to be competitive because of good coaching. This past season they brought in a couple of free agents and had a pretty good draft. Now they're off to the best start in the league. They play exciting BB with good balance and good defense.
I admit it's easier to reload on a basketball team since there are fewer players and 2 or 3 guys can make a bigger difference. The point is, they didn't build a championship team and then rest on their laurels after they won a couple. They quickly went to work and rebuilt the team.

Backup QB's have been winning games all season -- why are peeps crying like big babies over this? :)
Though this team has the talent to compete (save for the banged up and s**tty secondary) this team is disoriented from top to bottom. Don't know what it is but only Kyle Shanahan can fix it and I doubt he can :(.
This x1000
we should of addressed the lack of cb depth in FA the draft or by the trade deadline

Next game against the Rams will be a blowout loss, of ritual sodomy like proportions. That will thankfully put an end to this wasted season.
And I will be there to witness such sodomy in person… should be glorious.

I am with you WestCoast. Half way though the season and it is not unprecedented to go from 3-5 to playoffs. The extra playoff spot and parody in this league, we still have a shot at the playoffs. Although team is undisciplined and looking like s**t right now. The Kittle and Aiyuk fumbles killed us early on and the inability to get turnovers (Warner let that slip away yesterday) is killing us too.
I like your spirit but how in the world can either of you even have hope that this team can make the playoffs when they can't even beat a backup QB (who was 8-22) with starters out across the board, at home?
Kyle has shown no signs of turning the team around and continues to do and say the same old things.
Bad coaching will continue and so will the losses. We will be lucky to win 3-4 more games all year.

Historically backup QB's have rarely beat starting QB's, this year is an anomaly and I'll still take the starting QB to win over a backup all day every day in the NFL.

Huh? I would help you with your English if the statement in and of itself wasn't so stupid. You do realize, regardless of age, anyone can watch that entire season anytime, right? Second, remind me who the MVP of that Super Bowl was.

Now ESPN FPI gives us a 33% chance to make the playoffs, right behind the Vikes (at 44%).
Again I believe the Saints will continue to drop. Imo, it always comes back to the QB position and who you have there.
One thing I wasn't expecting was Panthers to get someone like Cam... thought they were stuck with Darnold (who's been playing like s**t) and the other young brotha who's not good.
But with Cam, imo the Panthers are dangerous again...because they are a well coached team..and they have talent. So if Cam picked up anything good from his experience with the Pats...and just does enough to help out the team, they can be a issue. Hopefully they lose games before Cam gets comfortable in this new offense.
Hopefully those teams in the south beat each other up.
