Shanahan's frustrating offense

I'll preface this by saying Kyle has forgotten more about football than I, or really any of us, will ever know. But watching games the past few years, here are a few things that have become really frustrating:

1) Going away from what's working. Usually, that's the running game. Mitchell had less than 5 carries in the 2nd half of the Colts game. Unacceptable.
2) Using Juice as a 3rd WR way too much. I love Juice, very versatile. But he is NOT, to quote Lynch, "an offensive weapon". His presence on passing downs does not create a mismatch (when lined out wide) and puts less speed and agility on the field.
3) Not spreading the field or using 4 WRs (in addition to Kittle). Honestly, there is NO reason this team should be carrying 6 WRs on the active roster. Only 3 get any meaningful snaps, which in 2021, is again unacceptable. There's the possibility that a spread offense may benefit Jimmy, but we'll never know.
4) Plays where a RB runs horizontally out of the backfield and does nothing. It's obvious they're not part of the pattern, so the offense is playing with 1 less receiving threat. He could be opening up the field for someone on that side, but I personally don't like it.
5) Nothing explosive or dynamic. This ties into #3.
6) Limited to nonexistent downfield passing game. Might be the same as #5, but needed to point out what we all see. Do we know if this is on Jimmy or Kyle? Are long throws being drawn up but Jimmy isn't taking shots? The Colts game was another reminder of how SF doesn't attack downfield.
7) Jamycal Hasty. Nothing specifically against him, but when Hasty is in, it's a giveaway of a pass. Maybe Wilson's presence now will change that. But I've always been amazed by RBs who have been playing football for more than half their lives, yet "can't catch". Absurd.
8) Falling apart after the 1st drive. So if Kyle scripts the first 15 plays and it usually works out, why not script the first 15 for each quarter and chose the script that works best to counter defensive adjustments. The offense drop off after the first drive/scoring drive has been steep.

I know this seemed long, but I don't think they were complex things. But if I'm off base, I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Brah,

Love what I read from your post... but as I've said it for the last 3 years, it's a GIMMICK OFFENSE..

The worst part is, it's a GIMMICK offense that its own designer has NO idea how to use it... we played a team w/a very very BAD BAD rushing D and yet, we ran the ball

for less than 20 times...

This coach of ours, he rather lose a game looking sexy than win a game w/much simplicity..
Kyle is getting very predictable about who's doing what in the offense. Mitchell is the #1 back. He gats 10 straight carries. Hasty is the #3 receiving back. He gets the throws. etc etc. rotate irrespective of down and distance. keep the other side guessing. make them ease up on their keys. Just like walsh. 10 players caught passes every game.
