Stop overestimating the talent on the roster and draft guys who can get on the field and contribute the first year. At least work them into the rotation

Number 1 priority is to clear up cap space.
Get rid of the older players who have served their purpose and maybe they can be contributors elsewhere.
Start the youth movement but keeping the foundation in tact. Kittle, Deebo, Trent, Juice, Warner, Mosley, Bosa should all be building blocks regardless of their price tag and get youth in other positions, dont spend on FA and save up that dough.
Start Lance and keep projections for 2022 low as f**k. Aim for 2023 as much as that pains me to say it. But with a full bag of cash and rising stars especially with some experience for Lance, we can have somthing to be excited about. You have to start now though. Just cut our losses.

There needs to be accountability at the top. Kyle and John have been skating through with losing seasons and nobody catching any blame because everybody made excuses for them. Now there is no excuse.
I dont know if they will, but there needs to be clarity as to whose job is whose. I'm of the opinion that there isn't a single offensive player on the team that Kyle doesn't at least sign off on. And I'm pretty sure any offensive skill player is his own personal pick. But I dont know for sure and we need to know. They can't get away with this "oh we hold hands and sing together all day long" bs theyve been serving. Kyle needs to step completely away from personnel so the department can be accurately evaluated.
That needs to happen at the least. Beyond that we'll have to see how the rest of the season goes because there's still quite a bit worse this could potentially get.

Kyle may be overrated as a head coach, but a lot of the issues are personnel. Key players are always in and out of the lineup, and some of these players are just bad even when they play.

Best ability is availability. Should be our mission statement.

Serious question: If Kyle is putting rookies in the doghouse and barely using them, wouldn't it make sense to believe that these are all Lynch picks? I mean, technically Lynch is the GM so why would we assume he's not picking?
Everyone seems to be thinking otherwise, which makes less sense, because if these rookies truly are "Kyle picks" then shouldn't he be forcing these rookies to play?

Because that's the way they told everyone it was gonna be when they were hired.
Kyle is in charge of the roster. Lynch is a front man. That's it. I'm sure Lynch has some input but this is Kyle Shanahan's baby.

They really said that during the press conference?! I don't believe it.
If this is true, then Kyle is a genuine idiot.
Edit: And "being in charge of the roster" can mean different things. Like maybe Kyle has the final say on the 53 players, and nothing about the actual picks.

Disagree on Mosely. He's garbage bin starter free agent quality. He is not a building block. He's a placeholder. The main problem with the secondary is that our building blocks are either placeholders or injury prone (Wart, Tartt, Verrett).
It's time to let the injury prone people at the end of their contracts go. Goodbye Tart, Verrett. I don't care if they're good. They are useless on the bench.
.
.
Otherwise I mostly agree. We give Jimmy and the team one last chance, against the Rams. If they don't win (to hell with showing they belong; it is now must win time), time to throw in the towel and play all the rookies, including Lance.
Then spend 2022 getting things right cap wise and depth wise, and in 2023 buy a good team.

I would say bottom out but that's impossible with no first round picks. Plus this team will still have cornerstones in Bosa, Warner, Kittle, and Deebo….although, if we had our 1sts in 22 I'd move Trent and Kittle in the off-season.
The biggest problem in my eyes is they used up draft capital to acquire Lance. The consolidation of assets for a franchise qb is a great move, I just think they took the absolute wrong guy.
Soooo if it was me and I had full autonomy, If strip it down, meaning trading Lance, Williams and Deebo and finding a whole new identity on offense. But, realistically, you just have to hope Lance is the real deal and you have to hit on at least 3 or 4 picks over the next two years for impact and others for depth. We have a lot of fringe nfl talent supplying depth right now.
What if you're 100% wrong and Lance is the guy? What's your plan then?

1. Forget 2019. The game has evolved and so should we.
2. Figure out who the hell we are. We've got almost an entire draft class not playing, it half feels like we're preparing for Trey while trying to win with Jimmy and our defense doesn't know what it is at the moment under Ryans. This feels like a transition year but nobody can tell what we're transitioning to.
3. Once we figure out who we are we can plan our FA and draft targets accordingly.
4. Trade Jimmy, cut Ebukan and get rid of Ford either pre or post June.
5. Don't re-sign the often injured brigade. No Mostert, Verrett, Tart, K Williams etc
6. Rebuild the defense and actually invest in the secondary. We should have the cap space, but it would be nice to know more about our 2021 draft class before the 2022 season.
7. No more over priced contracts for average players.
8. I think this is a big learning year for Aiyuk and he will make the same leap Deebo did in year 3 next season. For that reason our main focus on offense should be sorting out our OL.
9. Draft guys who you believe can play right away.
10. Hope our luck changes.

I think the first thig they need to do is reflect on their key decisions that were mistakes, to learn from their past.
Biggest mistakes
1. Letting deforest buckner go at age 26 and drafting an injured player in hopes of similar play for less.
2. Payig Arik Armstead star money after oly 1 good season out of 5 when buckner had 4 stellar seasons.
3. Trying to mimic the 2019 team. The team needs to evolve and change. It needs to grow.
4. Letting vet minimum veterans take snaps from developing young players. Tom Compton Dan Brunskill
5. Stop trying to copy Green Bay and KC. Let Trey learn on the fly in real time in games.
6. Stop paying big money to mediocre talent (see Arik Armstead). Let McGlinchey walk, he is fine on a rookie deal but not worth the cap space of a second contract RT
7. Stop putting out press releases of conversations that coaches and GM's have with players in private. Be confidential.
8. Stop punting when you are on the 40 on 4th down right out of field goal range and you essetlay net 20 yards which the D gives back in two plays.
9. STOP STOP playing your stars into the ground. Let Kittle and Bosa (clearly the two best players) have a few snaps off to lessen injury risk and to keep them fresh. This rotation also will help the younger players develop.
10. STOP raising ticket prices for a crappy product

Build around him. Get receivers who have elite instincts on how to find defensive holes when the play breaks down, and Trey buys time with his feet, which will happen a lot. Get younger and more mobile on the o line. Those guys need to be able to reset and move after Trey evades the pocket as well.
Defensively, we need new starters at 1 d end, at least 1 linebacker, and 2 corners. I would like to get younger at safety as well but Tart and Ward are underrated simply because they don't stack stats. They are safety nets.

Sell everybody for draft picks but deebo, ayuik, and Trey
Warner- overrated worth a first or second
Bosa- good player but not worth the 20+million he will ask for when his contracts up by the time we are relevant again. Worth 2 firsts
Williams- good player has value even though he is old. Worth a first
Kittle- breaking down more and more each year and value is up. Worth a first
Armstead- overrated not worth the money he's paid
Miglintchey- okay but he should be traded because brunskill can play natu ally at that spot and almost to the same level
Jimmy- cut because he's not the future or trade for 6 or 7 to like the saints.
Honestly there's ammunition right there to reload and we would have a ton of cap space also. We just have no balls to do it.
This excludes the basics like cut ford, Hurd, sermon etc..
