20+ plays drive will keep them on the sideline. But we have to come away with a TD at the end of the drive not 3pts. Defeats the long drive if you're behind in scores.

justin jefferson and cook scares me a lot
our secondary has looked a lot better the past few games but we definitely haven't faced anyone of this caliber since Devante Adams who feasted on us

That game was a complete sh*t show. I'd like to think we can do better but there's 0 doubt that the Vikings roll out better players(with Hopkins and Green being out in that game for Arizona)
Good news is hopefully we learned a very HARD lesson in that game. Having Ward back should also help...one thing that guy does very well is tackle.
The other thing is...if Vikings go heavy screen game with Cook they can't attack our weaknesses which is our corners in coverage vs Jefferson/Thielen. I'd love it if they went heavy screen game. I trust our guys to tackle much more than I trust them in coverage down the field.
Either way our pass rush has to show up.

Not going to happen. We don't have the defense we did two years ago. The key is time of possession and no turnovers. It's the niners offense that's key. It was the key last two games.

They have 2 very good WRs and a QB that isn't afraid to throw it all over the field, and one of the best RBs in the game.
Key to this game is gonna TOP. Niners offense needs to show up again and keep the ball away from them as much as possible.

When we beat them in the playoffs in 2019 they had Diggs, Theilen, and Cook… I agree that Jefferson > Diggs but Theilen isn't as good as he was then.
My point is that they've had good offensive teams for years, they lack consistency on defense and have a QB prone to make back-breaker type plays but generally plays very well.

Since 1999 the 49ers are 3-1 (including playoffs) at home vs the Vikings. But they 3-6 overall vs Minnesota since 1999. Simply put, don't count on the 49ers winning if they were in Minnesota.

IIIII think we may need another 2019 Saints performance out of Jimmy to win this one. We haven't seen the gunslinger Jimmy in a while and I think he makes an appearance this weekend.

The home team in this series has won games going back quite a long time. We haven't won in Minnesota since 1992, and the 49ers have beaten the Vikings going back to at 2015 at home (that hilarious season opener).
I'm hoping we can finally go to Minnesota next time and win, but for now we won't have to. Seeing the importance of this game and the renewed fight of the team, I believe Levi's will play a role in us getting the 6th win of the season.
Quest for 6!

Both teams are 5-5, this could be a pretender-contender game for both teams. You could say this is a playoff game.

To be fair we also had a well rested and much better pass rush to counter all those guys. Better run D as well.

Kyle is a different coach than he was 7-8 weeks ago. Our 4 losses in a row made him take stock, re-evaluate, and the AZ loss really cemented that. He has reverted to letting Jimmy play shotgun, which he excels at, and only occasionally putting him under center for PA. The result has been striking and JG went from looking like bottom 1/3 Qb to top 5 QB. Allowing him to play what he's comfortable with, shotgun, was long overdue. The disaster against AZ was the double wake up call, and kyle realized Kyle-my-way-QBing was dead as a door nail. Then about Rams game time, Elijah rejoined the team and the rest is hx.
The jags game was a great time to showcase Elijah 2, aka Deebo, who just stunned the Jags. So, we have a RB1, no matter if Elijah or Deebo. Kyle's run game plan , if workable against Vikes, can win it again, but Zimmer knows already what's coming and will be ready for the pound and ground. If we could put up another 11, 12 or 13 minute opening drive, after stopping Vikes three and out, then we demoralize them and win. Whole key is can we make a sustained, double minute possession O on them. If not, then game is tossup. Also TOs will determine winner, all else being equal. Should be a nail biter and down to the wire…with last team owning the ball getting the win via FG. 9ers 33-31

If the 49ers *are* a playoff team, they will beat the Vikings. If they aren't yet one, the won't.
