Kyle is a different coach than he was 7-8 weeks ago. Our 4 losses in a row made him take stock, re-evaluate, and the AZ loss really cemented that. He has reverted to letting Jimmy play shotgun, which he excels at, and only occasionally putting him under center for PA. The result has been striking and JG went from looking like bottom 1/3 Qb to top 5 QB. Allowing him to play what he's comfortable with, shotgun, was long overdue. The disaster against AZ was the double wake up call, and kyle realized Kyle-my-way-QBing was dead as a door nail. Then about Rams game time, Elijah rejoined the team and the rest is hx.
The jags game was a great time to showcase Elijah 2, aka Deebo, who just stunned the Jags. So, we have a RB1, no matter if Elijah or Deebo. Kyle's run game plan , if workable against Vikes, can win it again, but Zimmer knows already what's coming and will be ready for the pound and ground. If we could put up another 11, 12 or 13 minute opening drive, after stopping Vikes three and out, then we demoralize them and win. Whole key is can we make a sustained, double minute possession O on them. If not, then game is tossup. Also TOs will determine winner, all else being equal. Should be a nail biter and down to the wire…with last team owning the ball getting the win via FG. 9ers 33-31
Kyle took a huge leap forward a few years ago, in my opinion, around 2018-2019 when he acquired a number 1 defense. Prior to that, he's (I think) never had a number one defense that he could rely on to back up his offense, so he was playing high-scoring long ball offense and he was very successful at it -- and he *is* a gifted play designer and play caller. He's always had a top ten offense even before he became head coach.
Now that he has a defense that can stop NFL caliber offenses, he's radically changed from the days in HotLanta, and he's gone ground and pound. The thing that impresses me about Kyle is his wonderful run game creativity. Everybody runs in his offense - QB's, WR's, Olinemen, TE's etc... also Everybody catches in his offense OLine, RB's etc... Hard to typecast or predict what and where the play is going as long as Kyle is the OC. Conceivably, he can take his Keep Away offense deep into the playoffs, even though our defense is missing several stars (Kinlaw, Verett etc...) I think he's struggling in finding how to use Sermon I don't think he's ever had a big back like him in his offense, the same way it took him a bit of time to put Jimmy in shotgun, but once he figures out Sermon, watch out!

I predict the NFL gives us friendly officiating this game and wants us to win.
Our next game is SNF against Seahawks.
That SNF game has zero TV potential if the 49ers lose and our season is falling apart.
Will draw extra eyes and give them something to hype if SF wins and is back in the playoff hunt

We will win because we are the better team from top to bottom. Of course I understand your theory, but when has the NFL given us friendly officiating? lol we all know that our best defender, Bosa, get's held on every play, including the SB.

The Vikings are playing well and coming off a big win against their rivals. Cousins is having one of his best seasons. This will be a bigger test than the overmatched Jags or even the Rams. Kyle always finds a way to beat the Rams who don't match up well with the NIners. If the Niners win Sunday I'll be convinced they've really turned things around.

Winning requires kyle to be HC, including game planning with our DC , ST coach, and literally coaching RBs, WRs, TEs, OLs, DLs, LBs, and DBs, personally. The 4 games in a row losses, accentuated by 3-4 40 yd PIs on our DBs in all 4 games shook him up and he realized he HAD to coach DBs, too., Actually HCing, and overseeing everything, is key to getting everyone, players and coaches alike, on same page. If he sticks with that scenario, i like us to win. Just OCing? Nope. I think, i hope, that after he did the above prior to Rams game, he learned virtually overnite, what it takes to be a successful HC. If he sticks with that coaching the entire team, esp game plans with O, D, and ST, we win. Meco can follow Kyle's game plan. He just needs help in setting it up, and same goes for STs.

It's been flexed out.
oh crap...that means zero holding on Bosa and free PI against us!
They just teased us with the Jax officiating

Wins and losses tend to do that. I do hope they have turned the corner also.
Statistically speaking, I think this game will test of our *defense* more than our offense. The Vikings defense is rated at the bottom half of the defensive categories, statistically. Our pass defense will definitely be tested by Cousins.

The reason I look at this game as being so important is 4 of the teams 5 wins came against bad teams. Detroit is terrible. The Jags are struggling with a rookie coach and QB. The Bears are doing what the Bears always do. The Eagles are okay now but they weren't very good when the Niners played them because they were still unsettled at QB.
It's hard to evaluate a team when they have a fairly easy schedule and aren't facing a lot of good teams. Even the Seahawks are having big issues now so that won't be the test it usually is. Outside of this game the only good teams left on the schedule are the Bengals on the road and the Rams in LA to finish the season. The Titans looked good early but they're struggling now. The Falcons and Texans aren't very good. So this is a real test of how good this team is.

The last two games we've gotten some really good officiating when compared to our opponents. Not debatable really.

Why would Denver at KC replace it? The chargers and bengals are a good option

Very interesting take on Jimmy by an opposing Vikings fan.

The 49ers are a run first team, that doesn't mean they are a good rushing team. They have to run first because Garoppolo is no Aaron Rodgers. They need to get him open, easy throws. They do that by running until the opponents get lazy and Garoppolo steals an easy one. Their entire plan is to lie to you, me, everyone on TV and everyone on twitter as loudly as they can, shouting: "we'Re A grEaT RUnnING TEam!!! PLEAZE BelEAVE US!!!"
Their only trick is Deebo Samuel – handing off to him, routes out of the backfield, regular routes – he's really good. Without that, they are just grinding away their own possessions.
How to Beat the 49ers
The Vikings must not fall for the lie that the 49ers are a good running team and give Jimmy Garoppolo nothing. Other than Deebo Samuel that is, if he's in the backfield, pay attention.

Agree. It's not so much that the 49ers are a good running team - they are. But they are also good at disguising the runs as passes and the passes as runs. That's Kyle.
Everybody forgets that Jimmy duked it out with Brees in 2019 and came away a winner.
