After some thought, special teams lost us that game

Yeah, by my count:
Special Teams - 15 points (Gould, Benjamin & Hightower)
Defense - 14 points (7 immediately after we went up double digits and the easy TD right before the half)
Compton - 9 points (Safety and Knockdown on 4th down)
Jimmy - 7 points (2 INT's but only 7 points given up; missed long FG)
Kyle - 7 points (Final RZ series)
Officials - 7 points (Final RZ series)

What else?

Yeah. Aiyuk let a punt bounce by him on the punt return. The one where he franticly ran it down and snatched it with one hand, which was also risky as hell. There were probably more that I missed. But yeah, ST has been bad.

That didn't cost us direct points though but no doubt, we lived inside our own 5 yard line all night.

Just the fact he did that is upsetting. I haven't been impressed with Aiyuk returning the ball. I feel like next time he really will cost us points and maybe a game by screwing up.
That was one of the most pathetic losses to these guys I've ever seen. It was almost like they were trying to give the game away. Why is Shanahan so scared of Pete Carroll?

No doubt. He's had a few issues as a returner no doubt. And that COULD have cost us even more on a stupid decision like that. He got lucky.

Great game , but never has a loss been harder or hurt worse than this one

Lasting memories of SEA game:

Pete chewing gum, smacking his lips

OVer the shoulder touch pass to Lockett for TD…and one before that "may" have been a TD also. Was definitely long ball with another over the shoulder.

SEA holding, grabbing …oops…not called.

Pete chewing gum,

Russ getting squished by Nick, Key, DJJ, Arik, together and at different times.

SEA holding, again, no call.

Another over the shoulder touch pass to metcalf.

Russ getting squished

Next play Russ running for his. Life, throws 40 yd TD.

Pete chewing gum.

DL 15 yd penalty for personal foul on a 3rd down stop.

As above, just 4 plays later, another Personal foul on Russ.

Obvious holding , AGAIN…SEA ,…not called.

And again.

Russ chewing gum, Pete throwing touch pass over our DB for TD.

SEA holding.. That's right …no call.

Jmmy completing nice pass to SEA LB… and again.

SEA holding…not called.

Pete chewing gum.

Meantime in background ST doing everything under the sun to give the game to SEA….in fact, they won this beauty for SEA.

Russ throwing nice touch pass over shoulder for TD. Pete chewing….

schidt…what a miserable nitemare
to make this loss even worse is the Seahawks didn't even play good. This wasn't your typical Wilson and Seahawks game vs the Niners. This was the same Seahawks team we have seen all season. Seahawks are not a good football team and they weren't in this game either. The problem is the Niners played down to their level and got beat. Jimmy, bad penalties, and special teams. That's what killed the Niners. And yes losing Eman didn't help.
I saw some complaints about the officials but I think they made the right calls for the most part. I don't like the way the rule against hitting QBs is called but that's the fault of the league and the rules committee. One call I thought they should have made was on the 3rd down pass to Sherfield at the back of the end zone. It looked like the Seattle defender had an arm around his waist and should have been flagged for holding. Seattle DBs have mastered that stuff forever. I think they're taught that in a crowded end zone the chances are that the officials won't be in good position to see a hold or a push. Do it and hope you get away with it. I think the see a high risk/reward ratio.

Who cares?! I'm so numb to bs calls going against the Niners at this point.

Bad officiating happens all across the league. I'm not sure who's coaching these CBs to tackle either.

Everyone knows calls get missed but calls against us get missed more on game changing plays. Calls seem to get bigly missed in these situations when we play SEA. Especially SEA.

We get that holding can be called on any play but at least call it on egregious situations.

It's well known that the NFL hates SF despite being one of their top brands. Probably something to do with Eddie Ds riverboat scandal, Yorks not really being part of the "elitist" owners, and the fact that they're a west coast team

Agreed. The hits to the facemask were legit calls. It's unfair because Willow is 5'10" but you can't make any helmet contact to the facemask/head area.

That said, if they're going to call a P.I. on Lenoir in the EZ, you need to call it the other way too. The DB had his arm pinned the entire time trying to make a 1 handed catch. It was very obvious, even live.

Go, Niners, go!
Did Jeff Wilson get hurt? Hasty has no business being Mitchells back up

Good question. Only seen him get the ball ounce on a play that ended up going back due to holding and never again. Weird

Yes but they didn't or haven't announced his injury yet.
I heard them make no mention of the injury during the TV broadcast. Just kept hearing Hasty and I thought it was a mistake. I thought that dude was still out
We have to face facts here:

Elijah is an elite special talent, and he has to play for our run game to go…unless hurt , when Deebo goes RB, at same elite level

BUT…Deebo is not built like an ice box with legs…he's a WR…an elite as hell WR. One game at RB and we lose him for next week. Happened yesterday, and we needed him at WR. He's gutsy as hell, but not built for trauma at RB.

Factoid: we can use him at both WR& RB, but if at RB, he gets beat up for next game…and we lose him following week.

Ergo, we have to decide where we need him most (WR), and leave him there. If Elijah is hurt he goes RB…and we're screwed at WR.

Obvious conclusion is Wilson or Hasty, or Sermon…but he's out…and neither Hasty nor Wilson are good for more than 2.5 yd/carry

We're screwed; funny thing is, i thot last yr Wilson would be the guy. Did he backslide? F.O tried to get us that guy, but no dice
