Tie breakers are

Head to head
Division record
Common games
Conference record
And so on

So I think espn is wrong with a 6-7 Vikings and a 6-7 49ers having Vikings in the playoffs.

In any case, Panthers and Falcons own a better division record so I stand corrected in that they could move into a playoff spot and knock the 49ers out.

Just when I think I know something, I don't.

Doesn't matter though. Gona smoke the who deys.

A few weeks ago, in this very odd season, i posted that this is the time of yr that kyle not only has to gameplan , call plays, help coach up the D, and now coach the ST, that he ALSO has to start husbanding his players….his star players. You know which ones they are. And anyone nicked, needs to be not just able to fog a mirror, he needs to be healthy.

Now kyle has to figure out not only how to win the next game, he has to do so, and keep his injured players off the field . The problem comes with guys in the grey area, where they are nicked, but still able to go. Ok…how much nicked? Go how far? At which position,? And so on. Gents, we are there. Actually were there 2 weeks ago. May not look like much but this is really a tough row to hoe, and will show us just how good kyle is managing the UNMANAGEABLE.

Man, do i ever wish him well and hope he makes the right moves. And no…I go no effing idea how to go about this.

Think the longer season is adding to the issues?

Yeah just wait til it's 18 games. Clubs need to do a better job managing reps the way they do in MLB managing innings for pitchers. Don't really understand why we were employing Deebo as essentially our starting tailback and receiver. One or two rushes a game max.

If it's a 3 way tie it doesn't go head to head.

If I planned all week on how to FU the NFL, i couldn't have come up with a better plan to screw up every team than to increase the season by one game….oh, and one bye. Owners really gave themselves a hoard of gold with that move. I DID advocate for one extra bye, but no more than 15 games but with 2 byes.

really , truly, can anyone think of a worse thing to do to the NFL than to make those behemoths we love as players, put one more game in? Christ almighty, what a dumb , dim witted move. Well, just ask how did it work? Gave us parity, like no one could have imagined…in league wide INJURIES. Maybe we came out ok because we have carried this injury burden pretty much alone for last 8 yrs.

And now we got parity…just not the kind NFL was looking for. "On any Sunday" will ring out the rest of the yr as teams try and replace starters with guys not even on the PS last week. How stupid is that?

So yeah, Chauncey, longer season is adding to injuries, but in an exponential, not straight line fashion. What a colossal screw up.

Good post. In a sense they play 20 either way. Should go to 18 as it did from 14 to 16. Just need to give backups more time throughout the season to keep everyone fresh. Anyone who plays the entire season in a heavy contact position deserves a keychain or reusable water bottle. Some sort of special recognition at least.

Agree, Faithful. 1-2 rushes/game would be fine…but i wouldn't mind seeing him line up at RB all game just to screw with opponent's minds. But jeez, use him as WR.

I get it…turns out Deebo is one of those rarities that could play WR/ RB. And he can play at an Elijah level…but as we've seen , then we lose him for 2 weeks because he isn't built like a RB who can take that abuse. So kyle has to accept that and decide to do the right thing. We're waiting coach.

this is where the husbanding thing comes in. Is deebo at RB for 2 games more important than deebo at WR for 5? That just doesn't look like too hard a decision…does it?

Can we just sign Gore and move on. Better than anyone available and half the guys already on a roster.
