Things are lined up for Lance to play well - home game, extended week to prepare, weak opponent, has Kittle this time. Play turnover free football, with a couple explosive plays sprinkled in, and the 49ers should win.

Don't the Texans have a really bad run D too?

Hopefully we dominate on the ground without using lance as a runner every other play.

27th in the league in terms of yards per rush defense. HOU might sell out to stop the run and take their chances with Lance as a passer.

No doubt.
Since this might be Trey's first game action in 2
months and he's dicing up our starting defense with the scout team, maybe we should start the scout team in this game and run the Texans' offense.

The Texans shut down the Chargers running game. They aren't as bad as you think.

Until lance can prove he can beat you with his arm, teams will do what they've been doing for years against us. Stop the run and make the qb beat you. Jimmy had some success and failures, hopefully lance can do better but time will tell.

Didn't have their starting RB in Ekler either

Im just glad we're not going up against the dolphins. That performance by book was embarrassing yesterday.

That performance speaks more to Book than to Miami. Any time you are rolling with QB3 or QB4 it gets seriously ugly. This is all the more reason we must keep Lance clean. If he's hurt again and if JG is hurt...

49er fans know this experience all to well.

I just finished watching the Texans chargers game. Mills A big strong guy with an accurate arm. But the Covid riddled Chargers defense put zero pressure on him. Things will be different on Sunday for him. Now with Trey we have a three headed running attack going against The 30th ranked run defense

I would imagine they'll just do what the Titans did and go max protect until one of their receivers gets open against our poor zone and 1on1 defense (Norman & Thomas).

If they go max protect, I would drop 8 into coverage and double everyone.

Yup it's on KS to make sure he keeps his guy clean. Let's avoid this QB Power stuff. Move the pocket to disrupt pass rush. Scheme up some easy completions. A win and a healthy Lance are the keys here.

This is true. I watched this entire game with my brother on Sunday, a true powder blue Chargers fan. I think the Chargers may have been expecting a walkover, but instead ran into a very motivated team. I'm not sure if that motivation will travel well to San Francisco. That's the thing with bad teams. They can look like world beaters one week and absoutely garbage the next.

You just described our team lol.
Niners won't be coming in cocky or unfocused, they'll be treating the Texans like a real good team, which won't be good for Houston. Thankfully, the Chargers made the mistake to take them lightly from the start, they would've won if they played them the way they play the Chiefs. SF won't make the same mistake and I don't think it will be close.

49ers 34
Texans 17
I really hope we get this game as our CBS single in my corner of the country... when do the 506 maps get updated? To me, it looks the most interesting... but fans would probably rather see KC vs CIN or some s**t

Edit: maps post on the 29th

I think we were still getting burned on that last game but I like the chess match!
