What will Jimmy's trade value be in the offseason?

I agree with you, and didn't say we should fall on our swords for jimmy. What we would look like chumps for doing, would be to trade him to a bottom feeder, a la HOU. That would be met with pushback from the players. That would be how you could take the camaraderie of this team and flush it down le toilette.

We will look for a good trade for us, but keep in mind the fairness of it to Jimmy, too.

I never said anything about players caring where Jimmy goes. I'm talking about players getting traded and not wanting the team they're being trade to giving up anything for them. They have no control with that, nor should they...if they did, Rogers would be playing in SF and all we would have given up is a 2025 6th rd pick.

I also disagree that players would have any pushback if Jimmy ends up in say Texas...it's a NFL team that needs a starting QB. There's only 32 jobs like that in the world. Buck got traded to a 7-9 Colts team, where was the outrage of him going specifically there? I understand the term camaraderie and locker room stuff, but people in here act like these men are kids and not acting like this is their profession/business.

This isn't pop warner where you have to be "fair" and make sure everyone get's a chance to play QB. The team has a ton of respect for Jimmy and will do everything they can to help him go to a place he wants to go that will pay him AND give SF proper value, BUT end of the day that option might not exist and you have to move him because that's best for the TEAM, which is what matters to Lynch/Kyle.

It took you down to the last paragraph, but ultimately, we're essentially on the same page.

Well, I think you are wrong. Unless they all get together and agree a level of lowballing, which is highly unlikely, they will end up competing with each other. They each want what is best for their own team rather than all wanting to do the 49ers down. There is a tidy pool of teams out there who need him.

I think a 2022 2nd plus other picks, maybe subject to performance and health, in which case they would be in 23.

And I'm pretty sure that's tampering. He will absolutely have a market and will get moved.

I think that last paragraph is just as true as the rest of it though. End of the day SF is now in the business of doing what's best for the team first, if they can make everything work with Jimmy sweet. It sounds like that's the first option in all of this and is commendable for all parties.

Jimmy isn't Aaron Rogers, he's not gonna have his pick of the litter.... the goal should be for him to be in a position to be a starting QB this yr and get an extension....imo it might be up to him if he wants more GTD cash somewhere or winning, there might not be a option for both.

We will see.
Jimmy will want to go to a contender but at the same time he'll want to go to a team that thinks highly enough of him to give up some good picks to get him

Also I expect multiple suitors and we're going to take the best available offer available with a small margin of error for a team that is a contender vs one which is not
Bargaining chip vs bagga chips.

I say he finally gets to replace Brady and 49ers get a 2nd in 2022 from Tampa
All second round picks are not equal I'd much rather have Denver or Washington's second round pick compared to TB's.

What does the team being a contender have to do with anything at all? He doesn't have a no trade clause, and if anyone on the team even thought about taking less in trade just to make him happy they deserve to lose their jobs. You take the best offer, regardless of who it comes from.
It's a nice thought that the Niners should help Jimmy find a good spot, but in the end it's a business. The Niners are going to do what's best for the Niners. They don't owe him anything. They paid him well during his time here and are under no obligation to do what's best for Jimmy. No matter how much you think of Jimmy, it's not like he is an icon or a team legend.

Exactly. But I don't care what anybody thinks, he's worth a late 1st rounder all day. Jimmy would be an automatic contender QB piece to Pittsburgh or Tampa. Which means that would be a 1st rounder in the mid to late 20's. Seems cheap to me for a Franchise QB
The greatest respect the 49ers can show for Jimmy is to negotiate a deal that includes a 2nd and a conditional 3rd that becomes a 2nd based on snaps/performance. THAT would show how much they and the league respect Jimmy.
Brady retires. Increases his value. Rodgers may stay put. Watson has major red flags.

He may be the best QB on the market. There are lots of QB desperate teams.

Low end = 2nd round pick.

Mid end = 2nd and a 3rd.

High end = 2nd and 2nd. The Alex Smith deal.

If multiple teams bid his price will go up. Something in any of those ranges is possible. Depending if more or less teams bid.

Ultimately I think we will get more for him than most people here think.

There will be a stronger market for Jimmy then some think...the draft is pretty poor and there's not much else as far as viable starters.

DC
DEN

Those are the teams that I see in the market for Jimmy right now.

Teams that "might" sniff around...
LV
DC
PITT
TB

Gonna be real interesting

Fixed your post with my personal opinion.

Yup if Rodgers somehow stays put the only other domino is if Wilson demands a trade. But who knows how that will go so I think there will be plenty suitors for Jimmy.
