What will Jimmy's trade value be in the offseason?

I love the (nonsensical) dramatic language people use.

"If they're trying to get a first-rounder, good luck, they aren't getting close to that for a bridge quarterback, which is what he is."

Lol. A 2nd and a player seems pretty f'ing close to a 1st. lol

Hell, in that scenario, the Niners could trade that 2nd and a player to get into the 1st. What a dumb thing to say.

Wow man you speaking with a lot of conviction in here. What do you think we get in a trade for Jimmy?

A 2nd plus a future pick or a starting caliber player. But it starts at a 2nd.

Hope you're right. Personally, I don't think teams are as high on him as people think. 3rd at best for me but will be more than happy at anything better
Guys who get paid a lot of money to evaluate nfl talent won't being looking at this with Jimmy Goggles on.
His final playoff stretch reveals him to have had a sluggish, pedestrian performance on a stacked team. With Kyle Shanahan.

It's too bad. Because with that salary, he's worth 3rd this year and a late rd next year.
The "QB market" will value adjust the 2nd year pick over this year's buy-in.
I can totally see someone doing 2 3rds if he's really in demand.

Trade compensation will be in this range or better.

That is all.

Not exactly the same situation. Darnold Is still young, supposedly had untapped potential, not to mention he has traits you look for In a QB.

You are right. Garoppolo is vastly better on virtually all fronts. And the trade comp will reflect it.

Fans need to stop conflating their personal opinions of Garoppolo with those of the market. They are not the same.

What trade comp would that be? There's a reason no team offered us a thing for him before the season began.. he's a limited QB, who's always dealing with Injuries. Let's hope I'm wrong though. I would love nothing more than for us to receive some high draft capital to help strengthen the team.

I still have no idea what he'll garner. None. LOL

Yeah NC you have more to worry about. That morning wood that hasn't gone away for you since finding out that Hightower is gone could be a problem

This. Jimmy has been on the trade block since we moved up to number three. You would think teams would have at least inquired.

They don't have to be high on him to get a good return. People don't have to be falling over themselves to hand the Niners picks. Market dynamics will play out. Once Rodgers and Wilson have their situations settled, Garoppolo is next. If you want to win in 2022, he's your choice. If you want to risk it...then risk it and hope for the best. The GM/HC may not have a job at the end of it, but that's the game they played.

Agree completely . IF Mike Tomlinson decides that with JG he has a bona fide SB contender, he might just make a deal that would blow any of us away. If it is one of the 8 or 9 teams currently looking for a starter, but they don't see SB in their immediate future, then Jimmy's worth less. His price will be directly related to how badly he is needed at just one of probably 2 or possibly 3 teams. As kid noted above, the market will decide based upon need.

Rumor is they want a mobile qb and covet Malik Willis.

Not as cut and dry as you think. If you want to win in 2022, he's your choice? Pure speculation. I'm sure Detroit would love to win, Jimmy ain't winning s**t there. Then the risk part you mentioned, is Jimmy's injury history not a risk all the same? Dude is literally hurt right now and supposedly getting surgery lol. Completely disagree on your very first sentence. How high they are on him directly correlates to how much they are willing to give up. There's other FA QBs out there, Rodgers and Wilson isn't the only ones. You have no idea how much better, if at all, teams think Jimmy + draft picks + new contract is over guys like Marriota or Winston etc..

We'll see soon
I still think Jimmy and our original 3rd round draft pick will be enough to get the Steelers 1st round pick. Now that Mike is the HC for the Dolphins we're getting 2 3rd round picks (one this year and one next year.)
2022 Third Round Pick
2023 Conditional pick (high as a 2nd and no lower than a 4th)

book it

Imagine going to your fans like "have no fear guys, we're rolling with Marcus Mariota!"

Just call it a dead season and move on because you're just phoning it in at that point.

The gap between Garoppolo and top tier QBs like Allen, Mahomes and Rodgers is pretty much equivalent to the gap between Garoppolo and replacement level QBs like Mariota. He's not a top 5 QB but he's at least someone that you can credibly sell to your fans as giving you a shot at the playoffs.
