What will Jimmy's trade value be in the offseason?

Remember, picks are PROMISES OF NOTHING, whereas the player has established talent and value.

I think it's the money attached to him as well...the team getting him will have to determine if they want to extend him (or if Jimmy is even willing to do that).

It will be an interesting off season for sure.

Which means it will have to be a team with cap room and has the desire to compete right away.

yeah, I mean if a team is extending him they can structure it to fit their cap...if it's a team that's just gonna use him as a one yr rental or wait and see, then the cap will play a bigger part IMO

Don't forget the injury history. if the pattern holds, he misses all or part of next year. I hope that does't happen but any team considering paying him a decent amount is going to look at that and at least factor it into their decision. After all. it was one of the reasons the Niners drafted Trey.

Jimmy and a 2nd for Rodgers.

Rodgers comes home for 3 more seasons and then Lance takes over at the young age of 25.

difference of about 20 million buddy. Math doesn't work at all.
No less than a 2nd rounder to diminish the strength of our QB room. We'll start there and then see what someone wants to offer us.

But, unless, we can find another good backup it may make sense (QB-room wise) to keep the two good QB's we currently have, again.

I'd say a 2nd and 3rd round picks should do it.

I would be ecstatic to get a 2nd in the 22 draft and a 3rd in the 23 draft. beyond ecstatic.

I believe this is a realistic value.

Jimmy would make Pittsburgh and Green Bay ( if Arod leaves) SB contenders.

He would make Washington, Carolina , New Orleans and Denver and maybe the Giants playoff contenders.

I think he is well worth a pick in the late 40's- 50's this year and a conditional 3rd ( that could become a 2nd) next year.
I know this is weird but I wouldn't get rid of him for less than a 1st at this point.

Other teams will need him, and we could use two QB's for another season.

Starting QB's are hard to find so even with his deficiencies & contract JG is still going to be a hot commodity. He's better than the Giants, Panthers, and Broncos current starters to name a few.

After the Rams game, I definitely agree with you and the number 1 pick, for sure.

If he continues to keep winning, I can see a desperate bottom feeding team giving 49ers half of their high round draft class picks in 2022.

But yeah, I don't think keeping Jimmy is an option if you want to keep Arden Key, Bosa and Deebo. I just can't see how they can fit just those guys (and other promising guys like Jeff Wilson and Hasty) under the cap in 2022 with the team *only* under the cap by 12 million. (defer to AB81)

I thought we lost the Trey Lance thread too, but it's still there.
