USA Today mock draft has Denver drafting a QB.

3rd year chance of being a contender with that route... I'm going with %15

Though there is a lot of young talent on that team, it would seem a waste of some very productive years to saddle the team with the time that would be required to get a draftee up to speed.

I just dont understand why it seems to be a foregone conclusion from you, midbay and others that whoever the Broncos could draft wont be good until year 3. There have been plenty of examples throughout history (and multiple in recent history) of QBs having productive rookie years and being really good in year 2.

We need to find a coach that didn't get fired, but is on the hot seat to win this coming year. This team will need a QB, and may or may not have a future answer at the position. If they don't, the assumption is they'll draft a QB behind Jimmy.

We need a desperate FO. Maybe the Colts? CLE? WAS?

Doesn't Washington already have a QB?. I could see the Colts, Steelers, and maybe the Saints as the most likely destinations for JG.

I think the Colts would be the best fit imo.

The Colts do have some cap room. However, the Wentz contract, plus a new contract for Garoppolo ($30+M APY?) would put them with $60+M in QB cost. They could cut Wentz but would still have $15M in dead money. In that scenario, the QB room would be the most expensive in the league.
It keeps going up. Keep winning. If he keeps winning perhaps we should consider keeping him. For next year anyway. Trey Lance is ultra raw. He may turn out in the long run. But Jimmy G wouldn't be the end of the world for 1 more year if he wins a little in the playoffs here. His value for trade will go up a lot too. There are really a lot of QB desperate teams. It's underestimated on here how desperate some teams are. We can get some value out of him.

I'm basing my position on the less-than-sterling assessments of the QBs coming out in this year's draft.

Would Denver fans, and the new owners, be content with another year of Bridgewater (if he agrees to stay) while hoping the new guy would be better than either Bridgewater or Garoppolo?
I think a real dark horse would be Cleveland. But they need to get rid of Baker first. Either them or the Steelers would've won the AFCN is they had Jimmy as a starter.

The soon to be Admirals have a young QB, but I can't help feeling that they'd have been in contention for that WC spot that Philly earned if they had a competent QB on their team. They should be an option. So would Houston, since Caserio was part of the Patriots brain trust that wanted Jimmy to take over from Tommy Boy in Gillette Stadium. They even have a set up where Mills can be the understudy for a year behind Jimmy ready to come in case of injury.
I'd like a second and a 4th plus whatever team trades for JG has to restock our vending machines for 2 years minimum.

I can only speak for the one Broncos fan I know who has the opinion that he is beyond tired of retreads. I dont know how the entire fanbase would react.

And speaking on my own personal opinion, I would ALWAYS prefer drafting a QB than to trade for a 30 year old middle of the pack QB (not even counting injury history).

They'll take him and like it, damnit.
Gotta say a lot of fans outside the niners are really underestimating jimmy. He'll surprise whatever team he goes to

I can see why Bronco fans would be tired of the junk they have had since Manning. Even in Manning's last season, though they won the SB, Manning was not the primary reason. He was 13/23 for 141 with a pick.

As to Garoppolo's ranking; there are a handful of guys that are in a muddled group with Garoppolo.
Brissett - backup at best
Stafford - fails at the worst times
Derek Carr - turnovers at the worst times
Ryan - not close to what he once was
Mac Jones - still limited
Jalen Hurts - a runner who plays QB, quite limited
JG - with one exception, the best of all those with the game on the line.

Out of that group, I would put JG near the top - 11-13 overall...but that is just me.
