Outsie of getting 1 or more 1st round picks, there is no reason to deal him. A team that needs a QB can roll the dice on first round picks that turn out busts more often than not....or take a known guy that has proven he can win game and get teams into the playoffs.
Besides that, it's still not clear that we are going to be better with him gone, so a deal needs to tip in our favor to take the risk.

Maybe they're talking about OC Mike McDaniel. Give me picks and/or players.
Correct. Mike McDaniel the 49ers OC
Oh okay. OP said McDaniel"s" which is Josh last name. Mike is just McDaniel. That's the confusion, of course he could've included the first name too 😂

Yeah, what's the deal with that? They're already souring on Wentz?

He'd have to reach the Super Bowl for a first.

It's a salary cap thing. We need the money to pay other players. It would be nice to keep him but not likely to happen.

I feel like I have been looking at this whole conversation wrong here. I thought about this before briefly, but I really got to thinking tonight.....
It's really not that Jimmy is great, good, average, or whatever. It's that he is going to be available in a year where there really is nothing else out there (also regardless of whether great, good, average or whatever). It's simply that there's not gonna be a lot available.
I still think Rodgers stays put. I think Wilson isn't going anywhere. And who the hell knows about Watson. So really that leaves the draft and Jimmy. Everyone knows my belief is Jimmy is average/inconsistent. But that might be a QB needy team's only real option if it's not a strong QB draft which seems like be the general consensus. It doesn't matter if you think Jimmy is the 10th,16th, 21st, or 25th best QB in the league. Whatever he is, that will probably by far the best that you could possibly acquire.
Now of course, this really applies to teams like Pittsburgh (barf) and Indianapolis if they decide/figure out how to move off Wentz. But teams like that who are right on the cusp of being more than a fringe playoff team might not have any other options.
I see no chance a all that he is back with us, we just have to hope multiple teams are interested.

I'm probably just extremely delusional here…
Bur what about Jimmy G to the Dolphins for Xavien Howard? Or Jimmy G to the Saints for Marshon Lattimore? CB is our biggest need this offseason. A trade like these would kill two birds with one stone.

To get a player along with a pick would be ideal for us.

Can't believe people think we're getting a 1st. Or that he stays past this year. 🤣

More like neither. But this thread is a fun read.
