Ya..... i am not so sure teams are lining up.
This assumes they don't tweak the deal. Jimmy cares about making the money and starting. He can do both on different terms. Just needs to know the money is guaranteed. It's not like contracts don't get adjusted. And Garoppolo has plenty of motivation to make it work for all parties.

there is another option, if the new team extends him and rework a new deal

Right. The contract is not absolute.

Actually $24.2 mil is what I read. In 2022 Trevor Lawrence will be paid $25 mil.
How do you figure Lawrence is getting 25mil in 2022, because that looks way off?
Yeah, that didn't sound right to me either so I checked. Trevor actually had a front loaded cap figure of 24.778 mil this season and it drops to 825,000 next.

Sorry he gets paid that this year you're right. Still was I that far off on how much he gets paid, regardless if it's this year or next it's still $25 mil right. I think total cap figure is about $27 mil. My point is QB's get paid this much now a days. Jared Goff just got his mediocre ass paid this year with a 4 year $134 mil, he makes $26 mil next season. Kirk Cousin is another one set to make $35 mil next season. $24 mil is not an outrageous number for Jimmy especially if he stays healthy.

I think he will have good value since there are not a lot of QBs out there and the draft is fairly weak at QB. Let's says Deshaun Watson goes to Pittsburgh. Maybe Russell Wilson force a trade to New Orleans. Browns part ways with Baker Mayfield. That leaves the following teams needing a QB:
Giants
Browns
Broncos
Seahawks
Panthers
Texans
WFT
Eagles (maybe)
Dolphins (maybe)
A lot of teams there that may be inclined to go with a veteran QB rather than a rookie, and the best available are JimmyG, Baker, maybe Bridgewater....it is a seller's market.

If Sam Darnold was traded for a second rounder and two other picks. I wouldn't be surprised if we can trade Jimmy for a second next year with so many QB needy teams.

I'll be surprise if we got two 4th rounder for Grappy now..
We gave up the ranch for Lance, the league knows that and Shanny thought he can fool teams who are in need of QB that he made it be known that Grappy was having a great CAMP, and hope that he can go to distance so that his value would be high... but even if that had happened, what team would give up a 1st rounder or a 2nd rounder when they know we are willing to part ways..

A 2nd rounder
he is a 100 rating qb with good accuracy who cannot win games by himself and who makes terrible mistakes in the most important games

Somewhere between an Alex Smith haul and Sam Darnold haul

We can give him permission to negotiate a deal with a new team before the trade.

Jimmy G and a 6th round pick to the vikes for zimmer and dantzler.
We get an upgrade at CB and DC.
Vikings get a vaccinated QB with similar skill set and move on from the head coach who is on his way out probably.

That's probably what's going to happen.

Because it is not a question of absolute worth, it is a relative thing as each suitor will be competing against others. Our being willing to part ways is completely irrelevant. I think a high second and a 2023 pick dependant on games started and achievement. And I think Lynch will work hard to find him a team he is happy to go to. There will be a number of teams trying to get a decent qb after this season.

Come on man. No one's going to take Mario Manningham off our hands. It's been 9 years since he played.
