If I was their GM I would try and do that since this coming season is going to be an unknown after the surgery. Just because they say it was minor doesn't mean he'll be 100% by the start of the season. After all we're talking about a QB that'a been hurt almost as much as he's been healthy.

If we get anything more than a 5th I'd be shocked

record + playoffs is way more important to me than who is on the roster at what price.

So no, heads dont need to roll.

Losing out on quality signings directly impacts what that record will be, so yes heads need to roll.

Disagree.

They were not going to use that money on FA signings anyways.

If for whatever reason we cant trade jimmy lynch has to be fired in the same second

Why is everyone blaming Lynch? Can't trade with anyone if you don't have someone to trade with

the music is just about to stop, and Jimmy can't get a chair
Jimmy wants to go to a winning team but no winning team wants him. Sigh
Imagine what April 1st will be like around here if Jimmy is still on the roster.

We didn't lose out on anyone over Jimmy's contract. 😂

Something they've never really done the last four offseasons is spend bug money on free agents. Why would they change that now? Aside from Chandler Jones there hasn't been anyone signed elsewhere they were seemingly interested in.

Spending money on free agents just to crow in the offseason is rarely a winning formula. Shanalynch have never done it outside of 2017 when they signed a handful of vets who were mostly there to change the culture from the previous regime.

Yeah you're right bringing in big FAs and trading for guys didn't help LA win the SB. Didn't help TB win the SB the yr prior. I'm sure the Chargers/Broncos/Raiders will all be worse then they were this past season.

I'm not saying you gotta go get every top guy...but improve the damn team. That money is for making the team better, not overpaying an avg starting QB who you JUST trading years of 1sts to move off from, only to keep him here because you're stubborn.

What the point of having a rookie QB on a rookie contract if you're not gonna take advantage of it? It's stupid as s**t.
Is that report that we were being offered 2 second round picks bullhonkey? How could we not take that if it was true?

Jimmy won't be on the team in 2023

And why wouldn't Deebo want to go to FA at that point? If I'm Deebo or Bosa I'm not touching the field this off season until I'm paid. You're willing to pay a backup QB $27M but not willing to pay Deebo or Bosa? That's $27M in fully GTD cash too once the season starts. Right in his pocket regardless if he's playing or not.

You think if they had that cash they wouldn't have resigned Laken or DJ? You don't think they would have offered a little more to Chandler Jones (who they offered a deal too)? You got teams all over the place making moves to improve, SF's working with like $10M and signing STers and a decent CB.

You're way too panicked about all of this. Nothing about this says SF is unwilling to pay Deebo or Bosa. In fact, their history with paying their star players says the exact opposite.
John Lynch is just going to spin it like they wanted Jimmy to return all along.
