How is it Lynch's fault that teams don't want Jimmy? If anything the FO has done a good job putting out this fake news through reporters that teams are calling them and willing to give up a 2nd. Best offer has probably been a 2023 3rd round pick most likely.
It's his fault for not taking whatever he can get and his fault for not cutting Jimmy when or if he knew he wasn't getting anybody interested. The cap space was always more important than the comp.
times infinity
Jimmy's contract was gonna pay for Bosa and Deebo this offseason. His contract didn't stop up us for being more agressive in FA, bc either way we needed to set aside anywhere between 20-30 mil cap for their contracts.
If there's not much interest in Jimmy there's nothing the FO can do. All they could do is put out some bs through reporters and hope they get some interest, and not like a future 6th round pick either. Worst case he gets cut, oh well.

NO hasn't shown interest, Winston makes more sense.
ATL needs someone, they'll probably draft a guy.
SEA won't get Jimmy unless he's cut.
NYG don't seem to be interested in Jimmy.
I still think the Texans are in play.
LOL why?
Caserio knows Jimmy from NE and they're looking for a vet Qb to start.
I could see it they would still develop Mills and he'd likely get some starts as well. You want to give that position the attention it deserves. Mills and Kyle Allen says to me we are not in it to win it this season. Lord knows they have enough picks now let us have some plz

Jameis Winston and the Saints are closing in on a two-year deal for the quarterback to remain in New Orleans, per source. Still details to be worked through but trending in the right direction. Winston and the Saints set to build off last year's 5-2 start together.

There were suitors reported by nearly everyone around rhe combine. He clearly overplayed his cards and put us into a nightmare burning draft capital and money.
What else has to happen?

So basically no teams left.
Maybe Giants if we deal him for cheap.

If I was their GM I would try and do that since this coming season is going to be an unknown after the surgery. Just because they say it was minor doesn't mean he'll be 100% by the start of the season. After all we're talking about a QB that'a been hurt almost as much as he's been healthy.
The #Saints are re-signing QB Jameis Winston to a two-year deal with a base value of $28 million, including $21M guaranteed, sources tell me and @RapSheet.

So after missing out on Deshaun Watson, New Orleans turns to an old friend at QB.
Lmao!

Lol we all knew Jimmy wasn't good and that our playmakers and Kyle made him look better than he truly was. We were just hoping they fooled a team into trading for him. Guess not

Something they've never really done the last four offseasons is spend bug money on free agents. Why would they change that now? Aside from Chandler Jones there hasn't been anyone signed elsewhere they were seemingly interested in.
Spending money on free agents just to crow in the offseason is rarely a winning formula. Shanalynch have never done it outside of 2017 when they signed a handful of vets who were mostly there to change the culture from the previous regime.
Yeah you're right bringing in big FAs and trading for guys didn't help LA win the SB. Didn't help TB win the SB the yr prior. I'm sure the Chargers/Broncos/Raiders will all be worse then they were this past season.
I'm not saying you gotta go get every top guy...but improve the damn team. That money is for making the team better, not overpaying an avg starting QB who you JUST trading years of 1sts to move off from, only to keep him here because you're stubborn.
What the point of having a rookie QB on a rookie contract if you're not gonna take advantage of it? It's stupid as s**t.
I said rarely. The LA Rams are the first team to free agency / vet trade their team to a SB title since the 1994 49ers. Twice in 30 years is indeed rare. The Rams took multiple years to do it, too.
