Its funny that a lot of the people who think Ryan stinks (not necessarily you) refuse to acknowledge his 2021 was essentially the same as Jimmy's 2021.
And Jimmy had a SUBSTANTIALLY better situation around him.

I'm not saying you gotta go get every top guy...but improve the damn team. That money is for making the team better, not overpaying an avg starting QB who you JUST trading years of 1sts to move off from, only to keep him here because you're stubborn.
What the point of having a rookie QB on a rookie contract if you're not gonna take advantage of it? It's stupid as s**t.
This!!!! How is anyone against improving the team even if they feel we're spending a little too much money? That is not the point. We have a quarterback on a rookie contract and now is the time to make a few moves, not a lot but a few moves to get this over the hump. We already are a Super Bowl contending team so the time is now.

You said they don't have to pay Deebo until 2023....I'm saying neither guy should step on the field this off season without a new deal. It's not just about them...it's about making the team better, what they're doing is not that.
There's a reason why NO team wants Jimmy...why does SF have to pay him?

No doubt, he'll give a speech on how the 9ers think highly of Jimmy and believe In him.

Just because they say it was minor doesn't mean he'll be 100% by the start of the season. After all we're talking about a QB that'a been hurt almost as much as he's been healthy.
If I am the Saints, I am paying Winston 1yr/$10M or 2yrs/$20M and avoiding everything you just stated above.
No one in the world will be able to convince me that Jameis for $10M a year and needing no picks to acquire is a worse option than trading a pick(s) for Jimmy and extending him for $20+M a year for multiple years.
**EDIT*** LMAOOOOO. Pretty much spot on from what just happened.

What's to spin? They've always said publicly that was entirely possible.
In other words, they were always ready to retain him if they didn't receive compensation they considered worthwhile.

The #Saints are re-signing QB Jameis Winston to a two-year deal with a base value of $28 million, including $21M guaranteed, sources tell me and @RapSheet.

It's as if GMs look beyond the boxscore. Crazy.

Why is everyone blaming Lynch? Can't trade with anyone if you don't have someone to trade with
There were suitors reported by nearly everyone around rhe combine. He clearly overplayed his cards and put us into a nightmare burning draft capital and money.
What else has to happen?
Sometimes you shouldn't believe everything that you read on the internet or hear from the media. Last year with the whole Mac Jones fiasco should've taught everyone that lesson
