What will Jimmy's trade value be in the offseason?

What happened to the two two's?

Minus 1: shoulder surgery.
Minus 2: everyone knows he's not that good.

Mariota is next. Like I said from the beginning, both Winston and Mariota will be coveted before Jimmy

Jimmy's stock is rapidly crashing

It crashed when it was announced he was getting surgery.

It crashed when he played last season

He was worth a mid round pick healthy.

I feel like ATL is the play. Seattle makes some sense, but I doubt we'd deal him to a division rival. ATL will be picking between Mayfield and Jimmy. Both give them plenty of cap relief, as compared to Ryan's cap hit. Mayfield is cheaper and younger. He could be the guy.

Carolina will likely go after a rookie. Why not just stick with Darnold as a stop-gap? Jimmy is a possibility, but trading away picks for another veteran with question marks is a risky move.

The Saints are giving Winston $21M guaranteed. It's unlikely they acquire another veteran this offseason. The deal probably gives them an out next year. They'll either grab someone in the draft this year or be active again next year. Winston gets another prove-it year.

LOL. They are paying a huge amount of money to Ryan. They arent going to add another $20+M contract for a QB.

To me, its Mariota on the cheap, or draft a QB....or both.

Yup. This f**king guy.

He f**ked himself lol
No, he f**ked the 49ers. If he gets cut, he gets to pick his team. If we keep him, we have to pay him $27M.

Some team will have to pick him, that'll be after an injury to their starting QB.

I'll leave the decision to hold out or not to Deebo and Bosa rather than you, NYniner.

You think Bosa is gonna go on the field lol? Just like his brother did? Same agents dude. No agent is gonna let their start guys touch the field. Let's stop being naïve about it.

LOL we got a rookie QB who's gonna be the starter on a rookie contract...let's totally negate that value by paying our backup a starter salary. Super smart, captveg.

I'll let Bosa make that decision or not.

You're way too panicked/emotional about all of this.

Nah I'm being realistic about it. Those guys will want to be paid just like Warner/Kittle were paid (after their 3 season in the off season). Neither guy should or will step on the field until that happens. There's not point for them too, they could get hurt and ruin a big pay day. Common sense man.

Why would you be cool with our highest paid player being our backup QB? Why would you be cool to basically throw away the opportunity to use a rookie QB contract to build a better overall team? Jimmy got surgery which f**ked any legit chance at a trade, he wants to be cut so do him a solid and cut him. IF he can't find a home anywhere then resign him down the road for backup money.

What I'm cool with is irrelevant. I don't work for the 49ers and have no control over how the roster is shaped.

I'm not saying Shanalynch will bring back Jimmy G as the 2022 backup at $27m. I'm just saying it wouldn't actually surprise me. Why? Because Lynch and Shanahan don't strike me as guys who care what the media or fans think about them in this regard.

Now, I also think that both of those guys are rather pragmatic. If Jimmy isn't traded by draft weekend it's highly likely they just release him for the reasons you've outlined. Maybe they kick the can further down the road to see if someone will go for a pre-season trade, but I think their pragmatism may win out. They tried to get compensation for him, but then the QB trade market went bonkers + Jimmy's shoulder surgery timing deflated his value. Oh well, time to move forward, and they'd likely want another QB to compete with Sudfeld as Lance's backup.

I'm just keeping an open mind in regards to how Shanalynch may consider all this, not in how I personally want things to go. I've stopped being emotionally invested in anything except liking wins in the regular season, so if they roll with Jimmy G as a massively overpaid backup, so be it.

OK well he's not, and almost never is. So why does it matter what he was worth if he was healthy?
Still zero. Can we release him now?

Well. Settle in. Gonna be a while now.

How so? Clearly it's NFL domino day. Falcons and Panthers have to make moves or risk getting left with no QB. I bet both are on the phone now fearful the other NFC South rival club will take their guy if they don't act right away.

You think Jimmy's getting moved soon? Lol. Only if he's cut.

Wow- Ryan to Colts. NO just filled a spot. What's left for little Jimmy?

Most likely scenarios?

1. Traded by draft weekend for a 4th-7th
2. Released, then signs with a team to compete for the starting job

They will take him into camp and if he beats Lance out then we have bigger issues than trading Jimmy
Quick question on comp picks. If JimmyG signs as an UFA next offseason, do we get a comp pick for him in 2023 or 2024? (Assuming we don't trade him)

If Lynch was offered two 2nd round picks and didn't bite, send his ass back to the tv booth ASAP. 😤

Hell be a backup, which is what he is.
