FEELS BENISSIMO BABY

Nothing like having your most expensive player being the backup and being avg on top of it…perfect way to building a super bowl roster derp.

This isn't a superbowl roster with an essentially rookie qb. You've said it yourself he's going to have an up and down season. Why not have Jimmy on the team, still mentor him, have insurance in case trey gets injured since he was injured twice in his limited play last season, and get a 3rd next year when jimmy leaves next season. Its pretty obvious shanalynch doesn't think they will contend next year from the lack of moves thus far.

JIMMY had an up and down season!!! You guys cant be serious here. No one on this planet expects Trey to come in and be elite. But HE DOESNT HAVE TO BE!! All he has to do is do what Jimmy did last season...which, lets be real here.....shouldnt be THAT difficult to accomplish. Maybe Trey isnt ready ready, but he doesnt have to be ready ready to replicate a Jimmy season. You guys are acting as if Jimmy is some irreplaceable HOF quarterback. He isnt. He has been one of the weakest links on the team the last few seasons, and a large reason why we didnt advance to the SB last season.

Did you or did you not watch the 2 seasons that Jimmy didn't play due to injury? What was the record? What did the niners do? Did the team magically stop being elite without jimmy? You act like he had nothing to do with the teams success. If he was so s**tty the team would have been in the superbowl with any qb, hoyer, beathard and mullens. If he was so s**tty our savior Shanahan wouldn't have started him last season. So let's not act like Jimmy sucks. He played the last postseason with a f**ked up thumb and shoulder for his teammates. He beat the rams for the team to even get to the postseason. He isn't elite, but he isn't "trash" like you guys claim he is. Enough.

it does this team zero good to have jimmy on the roster come game time. due to the ego of lynch. jimmy will not get cut now cuz lynch is either unable or unwilling he played a big role in bungling this thing. so let jimmy et 100 per healthy as if he ever is.... then try to convince someone.. not demand arrogant lynch.. try to coax someone to give you a 4th round pick on draft day. people now pretending jimmy being on the roster is a good thing is stupid in my opinion but i get it . whatever the front office does or decide.. many will blindly support it and help them promote it

This team was a Super Bowl roster with Jimmy G leading it. We went to the Super Bowl with Jimmy G.

Jimmy G has never played a good playoff game. 0 for 6.

Jimmy G sure wins a lot of playoff games. He's been to 2 NFC Championship Games and 1 Super Bowl in 3 years. That is far better than most of the supposedly "great" QB'S in the league.

Nothing you just said discounts what I did. Jimmy has never played a good playoff game. 0 for 6.

again, we are not forced to keep jimmy

there will always be pursuing/aggreements before the official signing.. there is no rule saying we have to trade/cut someone to speak or come to an agreement with a Free agent

I never said they were forced to keep Jimmy, nowhere am I debating that.

you can not agree upon anything without the proper cap space available first…the league will not allow the transaction to happen.

like I said show me some restructures that don't affect the cap in 2023 or make s**t harder next yr? So if they want a guy right now, they would have to push more cash into 2023 AND take on the cap hit off the new player (which more than likely is higher in 2023) so it hits them twice….instead of moving off a QB that they don't even want.

And they could have done the same s**t with case Keenum or someone of similar play all the same…that doesn't make Jimmy great. It makes the team he was on great. You know all these yet continue to toss out BS. That's why people call you a troll in here
Just cut Jimmy and lick our wounds. We got our moneys worth out of the guy. Time to move on. The longer we keep him, the more expensive he becomes. Expensive? Yes! There is such thing as the expense of missed opportunities. Cut him, sign a few more free agents now and close the book on the guy. Obviously there is little interest in the league on Jimmy. The only thing that is keeping the Niners from cutting Jimmy is pride. Boo hoo hoo. Time to cut bait.

I have been a season ticket holder since the early 90s, so please save the "did you watch the games" crap.

I never said anything close to the bolded, so you can save that nonsense too.

Jimmy is a starting quarterback level player in the NFL. Mullens, Hoyer and Beathard are not. Is it really difficult to see why the 49ers as a team had more success with a starting level QB than a bunch of bums? You think thats some great argument and indication that Jimmy is valuable. Its not. All you are doing is demonstrating that Jimmy is better than those 3 guys, and that with a stacked team we are capable of winning games with him. Thats it.

Jimmy had an up and down season in 2021. Not sure how anyone can debate that. Yet, you arent ok with a 1st year starter having an up and down season. That, sir, shows you are biased af. I have never once said that I think Trey will be elite in 2022, nor have I said Jimmy is garbage.

There isn't a single logical person that thinks our highest paid player should be the backup qb that they've tried to move for tue past two months.

If they're not competing to win why the f**k pay a backup $27M??? Stop it

I refuse to believe your mind works this simplistically. You're just being lazy man.

That's been done before hundreds of times ya don't need more of that do ya? Trying to stay positive here. We got an MVP candidate in Lance who will make a major year 2 jump and a starting caliber QB with 99 rating as well that's amazing at the most important position in sports we got it covered baby. I'll feel better one those big hits TL takes with JG on the sideline we won't miss a beat.

When you say something that deserves a "Derp" I'm gonna post it. That comment most certainly was one of those.

Keep it about football maybe . I like our QB room it's strong imo do you disagree?

I didnt know there was a history of the word on this board. Its not a word I use, ever. Keep it about football? OK. The QB room of Lance and Sudfield likely needs one more QB. It isnt, nor should it be Jimmy.

So right now our QB room is Lance and Sudfield. I like the potential of it, yes.

Trolling it's that simple. I wish every GM was this simple minded we would have gotten 3 1sts for Jimmy
Jimmy is better than this trade market is treating him. I've rewatched a lot of the games we pulled out down the back stretch to make the playoffs and go deep. I am excited to see what Trey Lance can do with all of the practice and preparation. But Jimmy is underrated, not just by many fans but also the league. I think he is not moving because of his salary, one year left, current injured status and injury history. These are all completely legitimate reasons to hesitate on pulling the trigger on this guy. But he is a pretty good starter (top half), and has moments where he has been very good and risen to high pressure playoff or must-win situations. Yes, he is a statue in the pocket and has limited passing range, but in a vacuum without salary and injury considerations, he would be an upgrade for many teams at QB. I'm guessing he nets us no trade capital this year, but becomes a viable plug and play option for a contending team that will lose their starter for the year and will send a decent 2023 pick our way. If he is an overpaid backup on our roster, or beats out Lance one more year, I can live with it. Of course, it's preferable that we unload him and his salary for draft compensation, but the sky is not falling.

This is turrible as Sir Charles would say. He drove us 88 yards in 60 seconds Week 18. Without that we do not make the playoffs and you don't get to blame him for not making the SB. We had one of the great 3 game stretches in club history. Beat (eventual Champ) LA on the road, Beat DAL (#1) offense on the road, beat MVP Rodgers on the road. Amazing. None of this happens if JG doesn't clutch up in the end of regulation Week 18 with a great drive and clutch throws. People forget this. To blame him for not making the SB when we wouldn't have made the postseason without him is a bad take.

We can disagree on a lot but let's agree on some things. I can agree he's not an irreplaceable HOF QB. Also Trey doesn't have to be elite I can agree on that although he will be imo.
