What will Jimmy's trade value be in the offseason?

If you guys want to question Lynch NOW because Jimmy is still on the team, that's on you guys. Bottom line, I just want the team to win. If shanalynch think this is best, and the fans have trust in them, let it be.

winning does not mean getting second place all the time or almost getting over the hump.. but never wanting to do anything to actually get us over the hump. do you think the team is in the win now mode like they supposedly were last year? i really do not think they are

cc im curious .... how far did u think we would get last year.?

What rationale? Having multiple scenarios based on what happens? Sounds smart to me.

What's everyone expect him to say while trading him? Admit we are desperate?

This entire thread is the most hilarious thing I've been a part in my life.

Desperate? For what? James will be cut if push comes to shove. That not desperate. That's part of the plan. It's all now timing to avoid the $7m payout if possible before the deadline where we are locked into his salary this year.

A 3 or 4 would have been nice but life goes on in the big scheme of things. Nothing. And while at it IF they had to pay the $7m for some reason then cut him it's still not the end of the world. Take the consolation prize and get out.

I can't believe this tread lives the way it does. The options are clear. Trade or cut. Being on the roster will not be an option.

Trey is now and the long future. If it takes $7m to close this chapter if no trade partner, I'm sure Jed is all hands on deck. Let her rip.

At this point, all we can do is wait and see until OTAs start. Let's see their approach to the draft and go from there.

With the moves they made, it's clear they're doing a youth movement, and Trey is definitely the captain of the movement. Jimmy won't be starting, especially since he won't be ready for OTAs and Trey will have all the reps.

I'm frustrated that we still have Jimmy, but I think we underestimate the players mindset. They know we traded up for Trey and will do everything to support him even with Jimmy. They love jimmy, but they know that Trey is the future. For a of this regimes faults, they did a great job establishing a great culture.

i did not think they would make the playoffs... i gave kyle and the team proper credit for proving me wrong... this is not a good answer. but here is how i am built.. once we made the playoffs... this year.. two years ago.. 2011 2012 2013... i revert back to the old niners way of thinking... right or wrong......... the more you win the more you want to win. the further you go. the further you want to go.. and it is unacceptable to lose a nfc title game or the super bowl.... i assumed. wrongly.. if we beat dallas and green bay on the road and in brutal weather like green bay. we can bully the rams. we had the best defense of any team left in my opinion and run game.. so i expected to go to the super bowl and win... i was pissed at tartt and blamed him then realized the whole team was off that day,. lacked aggression and i also felt jimmy lost the game. which is when i was done with him. that started on the pick he threw vs green bay and then dallas. it was building. typical long cc answer. but thats what i got

lynch and kyle need to do everything they can do for trey.. in my opinion. that means getting at least two good o line guys.. a fast wide out.. a fast running back and a very good second tight end

You really think the GM who thought we could get a 2nd plus some is perfectly fine with cutting him for a 7 million loss. And not just saying that to save face?

Isnt the score at the end of the game all that matters?

If the results are there whonare we to question it?

If what happens on the field didn't matter, Trey Lance wouldn't be on this team.

That makes little sense either. I 100% question Lynch for drafting Thomas instead of Mahomes. 100%. Does that mean I think he's only making bad moves? No. He's made a lot of good ones. THIS one is a bad move. These free agent players would make much more of a difference than the 2nd or 3rd round pick he hopes to get from Jimmy.

There is still a whole offseason ahead of us. You can always find a good speedy receiver in the draft as well as a solid number 2 TE. I am a little nervous about our Oline though. I'm hoping that our young players work their asses off to compete for the guard spots cause I don't wan Brunskill as our full time RG.

This obviously. Letting the O line go by the wayside, while being proven wrong by the rest of the league as to Jimmy's value adds insult to injury.
At this point, if the Panthers want Jimmy but want us to take on Darnold, they would have to take on at least half of darnolds salary. Then they can draft Willis and have him sit behind Jimmy. I hope Jimmy realizes he has officially entered the bridge QB phase of his career.

i would say to today ... don't live and die on a season in march. There can be many twists and turns on the way to a Superbowl. as we stand today, i am very unhappy that jimmy g is still on our team. That does not mean that i don't believe in the overall trajectory of this team. I'm a glass half full type of guy as i mentioned before, this team has a lot of work to do return to the level of play we were when the season ended last year. I believe in the brain trust that we have and we will somehow end up with a better team than we had last year because of the young core that we have on this team such as Deebo , Bosa , Amrstead, Aiyuk, Warner, Ward, and Ward, Mitchell, along with veteran's Williams, Juice, Mack, and a coach that has as good an offensive scheme as any in the league. Along with an up and coming Defensive Coordinator i think we have a bright future, So in my opinion , just because we didn't get rid of jimmy and sign some high priced free agents who may or may not have panned out, i still like our team and don't feel like the sky is falling. Not to mention a possible young franchise QB

Another day with Lynch & Shanny running things and two starting QBs... life is good.
