What will Jimmy's trade value be in the offseason?

Hyder and Key don't really do the same things so idk if it's really a downgrade. I still think Key could be back.

Unless key is coming back for what Hyder is getting paid, which damn near the vet min…he's not coming back.

I disagree, he obviously is not getting his asking price, so he is gonna sign another prove it deal, he just has to find out which team will showcase his talents the most.

I think Hyder knows there isn't a huge payday waiting for him, which is why he took such a cheap guaranteed contract.

He stops the team from rolling over his salary into the future, he doesn't stop them from adding core pieces to multi year deals.

You could also argue that ARI adding Watt, Green, and Butler "stopped" them from resigning Jones and Kirk.

No he doesn't stop them from rolling over cash into 2023. That's not true at all. He stopped them from being spenders this yr (basically choosing to keep him vs not).

AZ wasn't spending $18M per on Kirk regardless of what they had. Again the guys I brought up weren't players in their 30s like you just did with AZ

Want to make a bet? You think he will sign for $750k on a one yr deal and I think he will get more than that….what do you want to bet?

hyder is 31 he's not making big money at this pt. Key is 26
It's over. Time to take our losses and go home. Can't win 'em all.

i could care less what other teams do... all i know we traded up to get him so he can play and be the future and not to set around and play checkers again in his second year.. what would you do... not improve the o line. not upgrade the skill position talent and put the kid in a bad spot to begin with. we need a big o line upgrade.. fast running back to help mitchell and deebo. a good second tight end and a fast fast wide out,... i could care less what other teams do and so should you

Another move that doesn't do much for the team. Downgrade from key.

I'm not sure I agree with that. Hyder was pretty good for us, even without the help of Bosa. This could be a nice tandem for 2022. The only downside, I doubt they draft a pass rusher this year now

I think they may still draft a pass rusher if the value is there (BPA). I think the Hyder signing does add depth and allows a bit more draft flexibility. If the 49ers can hit on some defensive line gems in day two or day three, that would be ideal. But now with Hyder, I think they can inject some youth and talent at the offensive line position with the draft. I like to keep Key, but I think his market value is beyond what the 49ers can pay.
JGs trade value gonna rise like a phoenix from the ashes we may perhaps get some kind of pick back potentially in a couple months maybe

That's my point, we will be right back here next year if we sign the really inexpensive starters as "insurance policies" for our young guys not being ready and the only reason you think Daniels and Corbett are valuable is because their teams gave them game reps and they performed. Not to mention, Jimmy's contract did not prevent the team from signing 3 year deals to any young player that they thought had the chance to play out the entirety of their contract.

The reality is every team has an OLine problem because most are not ready for the NFL out of college, and the ones who are never make it to free agency until they are past their prime and the ones who are developed by their team and are made into solid starters usually get overpaid in FA.

Like I said, I think the team insulated itself by drafting and developing the guys they have where no matter how bad the guys we have play, they won't be terrible. The good thing about being in that position, is you have a good chance to see if any of those guys are ready to take the next step forward, and which are destined to be backups. With Mack retiring soon, I would say this is the best time to do it. It is not ideal to also be developing a QB at the same time, however, I would bet that no matter how bad the current guys on the team play combined with the draft class, they can't be worse than Cincy was the past 2 seasons.

Daniels and Corbett were both top 40 picks, not UDFAs that just needed a shot. I don't want guys learning on the fly to protect our rookie QB. Neither were costly and no they wouldn't be in the same position next yr…we would have a better OL and can spend draft capital elsewhere.

Brunskill stinks. Compton was awful as a pass-protector. Banks will more than likely be a starter and imo was massively overdrafted and bad when on the field…he wasn't some high traits OG who's raw…he was a multi-yr starter at one of the best college programs at developing lineman.

Did you ever consider there is a reason that the Rams and the bears let them walk? There are obviously not the set it and forget it starters you are making them out to be, and the fact that they signed $8M contracts this early, means those were the best offers on the table for them.

Im not saying the Niners have 4 diamonds in the rough hidden on team at OL, I'm just saying that I would not be surprised of one of those guys ends up outperforming Daniels and Corbett this season, or one turns out to be a solid starter or one ends up getting a contract like Daniels and Corbett do next off season and other teams talk about how their teams missed out on signing them and upgrading their lines for years to come.

What they're doing is providing him with all the weapons so they can see for sure how well he plays before moving on. If they end up cutting or trading him he can't say he didn't have enough playmakers.

But where does that leave the team?
La Canfora says Texans aren't interested

Did they not get film of the Saints game? His flirty postgame interviews? Have they not seen the commercial?

No they're not mediocre. That's not true at all. Brunskill is BAD and that's not even debatable. Banks was massively over drafted & was reportedly the worst looking lineman on the field during camp, his one preseason game his PBLK score was zero lol…I don't even know how that's possible. He had 5 snaps vs the jags and almost got Lance killed.

If anyone was over paid it was Scherff who's best yrs are behind him. He wasn't special at all this past season.

I prefer having good young proven talent protecting our QB, not unknowns and backup level talent.

Agree to disagree. I watch Bears games. Their OL was not good and he was a part of it. Don't care about PFF. I saw with my own eyes him getting beat one on one multiple times, missing blocks. They have a young quarterback, cap space, he signed for a reasonable deal. Why was he not brought back? I'm not saying he's a terrible player, he's just not as good as you think he is. But I remember he was one of your draft crushes and that's the problem, no offense.

I've seen so many webzone "draft crushes" flop, but there is no humility with webzone posters, it is hard to have a legitimate discussion.
