I would rather see what we got, and if it is as bad as you think, pull a Bengals NEXT YEAR and sign every available FA Lineman.
We can check back next offseason and see who performed better, the young Niners or Corbett and Daniels. We can also check back to see if any of our young guys get paid more than they did this year.
Investing in young known commodities increases your odds in improvement. I mean according to you we shouldn't have signed Ward either. Should have let Thomas and Demo play so we know what we got. They stink we can magically sign good players mid season. Oh wait that's not how it works.
So we gotta see Trey Lance get killed and tear his ACL like Burrow, just so we can see what we have first. Cool cool cool.
Dude we don't have any players on the OL set to get paid next yr. Unless you think Brinskill will magically be really good lol.
I agree. I guess we disagree on what the definition of know commodities are. I don't consider Corbit and Daniels as known or as valuable a commodity as you do.
The CB situation was different for me, in that 60% of you plays you need 3 of them and the Niners had a total of 3. So they needed to either sign a backup, nickel or see if they could get a starter. The one they got was more analogous to a younger Tomlinson rather than a Corbett or a Daniels. Would I rather draft a guy or see what I got in Lenoire rather then pay starter money to Eli Apple or Ahkello, yes, even more so if I had multiple players that could fill in for that one spot and I already know what Lenoires worst looks like and there is a possibility that his best could be better than the aforementioned players.
Finally, Brunskill was a converted TE that played tacked was expected to be a backup C and started at G. If Compton can take a leap forward, I don't see why it is so hard for you to believe that he could too.
