Did they not get film of the Saints game? His flirty postgame interviews? Have they not seen the commercial?

Right, that is what logic should tell everyone.

Woo will e-mail them his win-loss record as a 49er when dawn breaks.

I could be wrong and i hope i am but i feel the best there going to get is a pick swap with another team, Most likely into the early or mid 2nd round. I know its not what they wanted but if moving up to get a player you feel can come in right away and contribute is the best you can get for Jimmy then just take it. If Jimmy is still here after the draft then you have to just cut him. I know it sucks getting nothing for him but you gotta just move on.

On the flip side, if Jimmy threw for 400 yards that game and Mostert only had 6 carries for 25 yds, it wouldn't imply that Mostert sucked as a RB. The facts would have shown that the defense couldn't stop the pass.

The outcome of that GB game was Coaching 101: "If your opponent can't stop it, keep doing it until they do."

I'm arguing about the statement, not what the implication might seem. He didnt have to do much in the GB game because they were up by so much and defense playing lights out. That's not a negative in that game in particular.

But what most people dont remember is that the game was tied 0-0 late in the first quarter. And on an obvious passing 3rd down for most qbs (3rd and 8) on the GB 36 yard line, what did Kyle do ? Exactly, he called a trap run play that caught GB offguard and Mostert went for a TD. It could've been stifled and then it'd be a long FG.

Here's a simple question: do coaches with elite or great or even very good QBs call a trap run play here or do they elect to pass the ball here ? That is a difficult situation for a QB against a good pass-rushing team on an obvious third and long passing down. What did Kyle elect to do ? He took the ball out of Jimmys hands.

Ironically, facing another near must-convert on 3rd and 8 situation 2 years later, Kyle AGAIN took the ball out of his QBs hands and handed it off...and a superior player that Deebo is, converted.

Even the Minnesota game when the run game and oline took the game over (along with defense), do you remember why and what point did Kyle run the ball 8 times in a row on a TD ?

I do. It was after Jimmy threw a piss-poor pick to a linebacker on 1st and 10 from his own 19 yard line, defense held them to 3.... and then threw a dangerous pass in traffic to Deebo. Kyle had enough and when Kirk Cousins decided to throw to Sherman, Kyle took the ball out of Jimmys hands and put the Niners up two scores by handing the ball off.

You are wrong, but not in the value you think we're going to get. The team isn't going to keep him into the season hoping someone will trade for him. Once his shoulder is healed and we won't have to lay him injury $, he will be released.

People really do have short memories. It was blatantly obvious Kyle was taking the ball out of Jimmy's hands. Now had they been able to stop the run, Kyle likely would have been forced to let him chuck it up, but thankfully the run game showed up.
Is Shanahan the type to not just give a guy the starting job because of his draft position? Damn straight. Lance just might have to earn it.

You had 3 player currently recovering from a torn ACL Gallup/Winston/Godwin all 3 got paid. Bud dupree recovering from an ACL got $85M last yr….a ACL recovery is by far more extensive then Jimmy's issue. If a team wanted Jimmy that wouldn't have been an massive issue.

There was half a dozen openings and nothing. No one wants him dude.

truth. Nobody want him.
Lock this thread. It's over. He's our backup now.
I either clearly overestimated Jimmy could get us a 2 or we simply overplayed our hand and turned down a two early and then once the dominoes started falling Jimmy was the last one standing

Trying to help Jimmy but it sure seems like he was more about himself. The team should have been about the business once the season concluded

Jimmy knew he had to play well this season as this was his audition to the rest of the league and this was his last run with the guys

We didn't owe Jimmy anything more than a thank you and the best trade we could make for him

If we ever got a two for him at any point he should have been gone within a week of the first moment we could of moved him no matter what team unless someone could beat it

I'm patient as a fan but free agency has past and we got a couple guys but now we need to get to the business of extending Deebo and Bosa

We still have Jimmy and something tells me that if his shoulder was this bad he either should have sat out the last couple games or immediately had surgery once the season was over

I just can't see how things have been managed properly thus far
