What will Jimmy's trade value be in the offseason?

Jimmy was smart for activating that injury clause, he knows how to play the game. He knows he will never see a contract like his current deal ever again so why not squeeze out every penny?

They drafted a QB, he activated the injury clause, what is the next move by either party...?

Why would a top 10 QB never receive a contract like that again?

But, once he passes his physical he'll lose that injury clause.

Then activate another injury. Easy peasy.

By that time free agency will be over.

Jimmy is smart

This is nothing new. Jimmy activates his injury nearly every year.

He's clearly only a top 10 QB to us, currently no interest from any other team in the NFL

Yes, the team is screwed but so is Jimmy. By the time he's healthy, all the teams will have almost all of their rosters filled and cap money spent (the great/above average/average teams will). If we cut him and he goes to free agency, the only teams that can sign him will be below average with at best a qb competition for him. $27M will be a pipe dream on the free market by summer.
Too bad we can't rent him out to needy teams on a week to week basis.30 million divided into 17 games seems fair.Or maybe a 5th round pick per game.

Really? 9-6 is good to you? Come on man.

So are you saying Walsh's career mark is no good?
please don't insult BW to make an awful take

Relax with reading into stuff that isn't there. Not talking about the careers of the two men. Talking about what is a good win percentage. A good number. I feel .600 is good.

I just posted a fact. His career win percentage is a fact. It's a good percentage. If you want to interpret some insult to BW that isn't there you are allowed to.

Exactly...there is no way we are taking Jimmy's $27m cap hit into the 2022 season when games start being played. His agent and Jimmy have got to realize that the market doesn't look great for him. It wouldn't be the worst thing to have him as a backup QB for Trey at a reduced salary.

Jimmy' three ideal landing spots are gone. Broncos, Colts and steelers. He is f**ked. Going to the Panthers is career suicide. He's better taking a paycut and staying put here waiting for a better opportunity next year.

Or go start somewhere like the panthers who don't have a awful roster….what you don't think he could do better than Sam did?

I think he would do 100x better than darnold, but carolina isn't in position to make a deep run like the other 3. Sometimes it's better to sit and wait for the right opportinity then to start for the wrong team.

Once Jimmy passes his physical he'll latch on with someone.

Only way we can reduce his salary is if he agrees to it. So JL goes JG you wanna hang around in a hella awkward situation and we will pay you much less and bench you? JG says yup sounds great baby. I don't see this happening. Call me skeptical.

I understand the 7.5 million aspect.
I have seen people mention starting him.
I don't think it is best for the offensive progression to have him on the team for the 2022 season. And I don't understand the mindset of people who do.
That's all I'm saying.

I haven't seen anyone seriously suggest we bring back and start JG. I think the divide I'm seeing some people want to cut JG like yesterday. Other people want see if JG getting back to 100% health results in a trade market. At the very least getting back to 100% means we avoid paying 7.5 million to a cut player.

Maybe share some of those people legit saying he should start. I think people are saying trade is ideal but if no trade partner maybe we bring him back. Schefter laid out this scenario a while back. If we don't get the trade comp he said we can bring him back and perhaps trade later on or play out the deal and get a comp pick back. Wouldn't be the worst thing in the world imo if no trade materializes. Course if Trey is blowing JG away KS sets the depth chart however we have the best chance to win. I expect Lance to start Week 1.

LOL. What? Lance didn't get us to 2 NFC Championship Games and 1 Super Bowl in 3 years. Jimmy G did that. If we bring Jimmy G back for another year we can make another run. Or we can play a QB who is not ready and likely tanks the season.

Look, I'm not here to instigate. The bolded does not imply starting TL, it implies the opposite. And I'm not going through 877 pages to find more of these types of quotes. I just don't understand this logic as I explained in my original post.
