What will Jimmy's trade value be in the offseason?

Activating that injury clause after the no trade clause was a great strategy on the part of JG and his agent. Doing it a week before free agency was a way of sticking it to our front office.

he could have had the surgery after being traded, he would have passed a physical just fine even with the shoulder.thumb injuries. But he and his agent knew there were no takers in the trade market.

Smart move by JG and his team man...

Jimmy having just had surgery on his shoulder means he can't throw a football in the moment or have full range of motion of that shoulder.

Therefore he cannot pass a physical. It's pretty much common sense dude.

You can still trade for a player who doesn't pass a physical but you assume any and all risk in doing so.

Never came out of the game once.

Yeah and Rivers played on a torn ACL. Wilson played on a high ankle sprain. Rogers played on a fractured pinky toe. Players play hurt all the damn time that doesn't mean they can pass a physical once traded. It's two totally different things. What you think players get physicals every week lol? stop it.

You're simple wrong. it's a horrible take that doesn't hold any water.

LOL why are you still trying man? Do you think there is any possibility of changing his mind?

It's not about changing my mind, it's about trying to change the facts; JG chose to have surgery a week before free agency after his agent did his research and found that there were no takers.

injury clause activated right after the no trade clause expired.

FACTS

The only FACT that matters is he wouldn't have passed any physical.

He wouldn't have impressed any team in any workout either, even with a healthy shoulder.

See how opinions work?

No trade/Injury Clause = Guaranteed $$$$$$

Dude he wasn't passing a physical if he had to get surgery lol. Why is that hard for you to get?

He didn't have a no-trade clause and he earned his $7.5M GTD for injury from incentives in previous yrs. It wasn't "activated" it was in his contract after reaching incentives regardless.

It's like talking to a brick wall with you...no he wouldn't have passed his physical, their doctors would have said he needs surgery all the same and the trade would have been voided. Jimmy LOST money because he got hurt...again.

Like I said your wrong...try something else.

So now it's a career ending shoulder injury?

The narrative just keeps on changing.

We all know he can be traded with the injury, but before being traded he would need to find a team willing to trade for him.

That's a cool article regarding physicals of players during the NFL combine. Jimmy was drafted years ago and already passed that physical.

Thanks for sharing that.

Dude it's like talking to a brick wall...he can't accept he's wrong about his wild little conspiracy theory.

Imagine thinking getting surgery means he would get more cash then if he didn't lol? IF he thought he could pass a physical and it would just get better than he would have never gotten surgery it's that simple...his odds of getting that $27M are MUCH higher if that was he case. He got hurt, surgery was needed either way and the timeline for recovery was around 4 months so getting it in January or March meant nothing in regards to that $7.5M.

Yeah because getting a physical is different lol take the loss dude.
I see where you going with this, but aside from denigrating Jimmy's character, I wonder even if he didn't have surgery if the Niners could have cut him without triggering the $7.5m guarantee for injury. We may need someone like AB (or another contract expert) to chime in, but pretty sure if Jimmy didn't get the surgery and we cut him 03/16 (pretty sure that was the beginning of the league year,) he wouldn't have passed a physical and thus the guarantee for injury would have been triggered anyway.

So his decision to get surgery wouldn't have changed where we are right now anyway.

Only one changing narratives is you...it went from he waited to long, to he should have waited to get it after he was traded, to he would have passed it because you said so lol.

Yes he can be traded knowing he will fail a physical I actually asked Barrows about this...the team trading for him would have to feel confident in the injury and be part of the process with the doctors etc. Clearly no team felt compelled to go this route. How you think this helped Jimmy is beyond me. He wants his $27M and more like any player...getting surgery doesn't help that.

Must be a carer ending injury if a starting NFL QB hurt his shoulder and it turns off every team in the NFL to the point where Mitchell Trubisky is considered before him.

Getting the surgery assured him something rather than nothing. If no one is interested and he gets cut, well...

Activating that Injury Clause after the no trade clause expired was very strategic.

You do know Jimmy G never failed a physical, right?
I think this thread has reached the 5th circle of hell: wrath and sullenness. Looking forward to the violence of getting to the 9th.

What circle nets us a draft pick?

What are you talking about?

Getting the surgery helps him get better so he can resume his career. If he get's cut someone will sign him and that $7.5M comes back to SF in the form of a credit in 2023 any way. He's gonna make that cash at some point, you're the one acting like he's done playing football and needs that $7.5M.

his no-trade clause was never a thing...any trade is only valid once the new season starts. So trying to bring that up as something in pointless. You're acting like Jimmy doesn't want to be a starter somewhere and make money.

He wants his $27M and more and that can only happen if he's healthy only way that can happen is with surgery. It wasn't healing on it's own and he wouldn't pass a physical regardless.

There was nothing strategic about being worthless in the trade market dying for starting QBs and more than likely losing his $27M. My god you'd be a horrible agent.
