What will Jimmy's trade value be in the offseason?

I think what's really hurting us here is the market value isn't $27m annual and no new club wants to start future extensions near that figure. Value closer to $12-17m annual imo. New club probably doesn't want to trade compensation then insult the player by saying hey you need a 50% paycut.

It amazes me that you can admit this after reading all of your posts from this past season.

Yup. He was trending well midseason. Injury put the arrow pointing downward. As did no real dominant performances in postseason. Now unable to throw while the dominos are falling. Still think we just hold on here. Cutting and getting back to full health and signing with SEA would be a problem for us. Trey / JG gives us a QB room that is injury proof even if one goes down we are covered.

Yeah I'm not worried about that one bit.

Why would that be a problem? I would love if he goes to SEA. Almost a guaranteed 2 wins against them for the next several years.

It's like the old saying, keep your friends close, but keep your enemies who aren't that good as a QB even closer.

He's a lot better than Drew Lock. Plus them having our 2021 starter and us getting zero in return would be just gross

The people who said his trade value would be very low months ago did actually take all this into account. The injuries, the salary, and the fact that the 49ers have Lance were and still are most of the reasons that Jimmy has little trade value.

But I definitely would not fear Jimmy on Seattle. Our first team defense tends to do well against him, and he's objectively a large drop from Russell Wilson.

Absolutely love to see Bosa smacking the s**t out of him for few years.

Yes he's better than Lock but we're not getting anything in return anyway.

Our defense is elite in coverage over the middle of the field (thanks to Fred Warner) and that's all Jimmy does. That's strength vs strength and I believe we would win vs Seattle easily with Jimmy.
JG gonna get us a pick back even if it's a comp pick in the year 2035 in the 11th round. Book it.

There is opportunity cost carrying around Jimmy's contract hoping for a draft pick. It's a fine line, and the NFL may already have told John Lynch, "

Maybe that's not what's going on now.

Yeah I think a lot of the lovefest for sending him to SEA is flat out JG hate. It's a no brainer that JG would vastly improve their current QB room and put them in a better position than they are now. Doing this with no comp would make it feel like SEA played us which would likely be the case.

Why cut him now when you could just hold onto him till at least August then trade him. There's no rush to free up cap space right now only to extend players. I personally think Jimmy will be dealt during the draft when the QB teams want won't be there, then have to go back and look to Mayfield or Jimmy as options.

At this pt it doesn't make sense to cut him with all the big names gone…I think as soon as he's cleared he's gone either way. They need that cap space to pay their rookie contracts & I'd rather not do that by restructuring deals

Says the guy who is non stop tin foil hat conspiracies when it comes to Jimmy and thinks he's a top 8 QB.

f**king Lynch talking out of his ass saying that they won't release Jimmy and that he will be on the team.

At this point this is what he needs to say. Can't say, sure we are gonna cut Jimmy, then no team is gonna want to trade for him, even though that's looking very unlikely.
