Someone has rightly said there are more lies being told during the offseason and just prior to the draft than in a bar at 1:00 AM.
It is Lynch's job to get the greatest value possible for Garoppolo. If that means spinning a story that doesn't prove out, then spin it.

And I am not sure they want to extend Ebukam or release him. So that only leaves Eman who their not even sure will be the starting corner in 2023 if they extend hm. Depending on how Thomas develops.
