that made me vomit and slash my wrists at the same time.. pretty gruesome scene here in cc land.. f**king lynch... he may as well just say qb job is open.. i think he is saying that to just save face... but if he is saying it cuz they do not want to admit a mistake with trey.., well that thought is frightening.

Someone has rightly said there are more lies being told during the offseason and just prior to the draft than in a bar at 1:00 AM.

It is Lynch's job to get the greatest value possible for Garoppolo. If that means spinning a story that doesn't prove out, then spin it.

There is opportunity cost carrying around Jimmy's contract hoping for a draft pick. It's a fine line, and the NFL may already have told John Lynch, "

Maybe that's not what's going on now.

It is. If the 49ers don't cut him, it's because they value the third round pick he'll probably bring next year more than the money. But they want to trade him, make no mistake about it. They're not lying when they explicitly say they're trying to move him. There would be no reason to do that.

You'd make a great CEO. Just spell out your companies plans to the media.

It's called operating out of a position of strength. This is world champion at work who wears a gold jacket to the office and a SB ring and is an honorary member of the TB Bucs Ring of Honor for achievement on and off the field. He turns down $15 million dollar job offers from tech firms to pilot this thing to a safe landing and #6.

At this point this is what he needs to say. Can't say, sure we are gonna cut Jimmy, then no team is gonna want to trade for him, even though that's looking very unlikely.

Yup. And he didn't only say Jimmy will be on the team, he said ours or someone else's which I guess captain obvious couldn't predict
People are saying they can just keep Jimmy until August or even longer until someone needs a QB but don't the Niners need to pay their rookies before then? How do you do that with only $2 Million in cap space when you will need about $7 Million for them? And I am pretty sure they are going to want to extend atleast Deebo before training camp as you don't want him going into his final year without a contract and so he will be getting a small bump in salary for the 2022 season. And you also want to leave abit of extra money for inseason signings. And there is only 3 players left they can restructure and I think two of them they don't want to. Jimmie Ward they probally don't want to because they would have to give him an extension and he turns 31 in July and because he is currently a top 10 safety he will be expensive after a restructure. And I am not sure they want to extend Ebukam or release him. So that only leaves Eman who their not even sure will be the starting corner in 2023 if they extend hm. Depending on how Thomas develops.

John Lynch always talks like a lawyer pleading his case.

Did you read my summary of the nature of JG's shoulder injury? Post 13385. If you haven't, go back and read it. It makes it clear why there have been no good offers. SUMMARY: The surgery made it clear to teams this was not a minor injury. Only when he proves he can throw with strength again will anybody be interested.

There is no great rush to sign rookies. Most, especially the top picks, do not sign until just before training camp begins anyway. By that time, Garoppolo with be throwing again, if the surgery was successful, and a deal can be made.

Also, with not having a #1 or #2 pick to sign, and the near-certainty they won't be drafting 9 players, they will have plenty of money to sign the rooks when they need to.
