Someone has rightly said there are more lies being told during the offseason and just prior to the draft than in a bar at 1:00 AM.

It is Lynch's job to get the greatest value possible for Garoppolo. If that means spinning a story that doesn't prove out, then spin it.

yes,, his stupid little game of chicken with the nfl was a miserable failure the first time around. here lets do it again and hope for different results.. jimmyshouldersurgeryexcuses not wiithstanding

Did you read my summary of the nature of JG's shoulder injury? Post 13385. If you haven't, go back and read it. It makes it clear why there have been no good offers. SUMMARY: The surgery made it clear to teams this was not a minor injury. Only when he proves he can throw with strength again will anybody be interested.

Read it, thanks. Follow up questions....

-Do you know if any other QBs in NFL history (lets say fairly recent history) have had a similar injury/surgery?
-Do you know how long it took these other QBs to recover?
-Did those other QBs ever return to form or were they damaged goods after this injury?

Not sure if you know the answers, but thought I would ask since you seem to have knowledge on the injury.

How do you do that with only $2 Million in cap space when you will need about $7 Million for them? And I am pretty sure they are going to want to extend atleast Deebo before training camp as you don't want him going into his final year without a contract and so he will be getting a small bump in salary for the 2022 season. And you also want to leave abit of extra money for inseason signings. And there is only 3 players left they can restructure and I think two of them they don't want to. Jimmie Ward they probally don't want to because they would have to give him an extension and he turns 31 in July and because he is currently a top 10 safety he will be expensive after a restructure. And I am not sure they want to extend Ebukam or release him. So that only leaves Eman who their not even sure will be the starting corner in 2023 if they extend hm. Depending on how Thomas develops.

There is no great rush to sign rookies. Most, especially the top picks, do not sign until just before training camp begins anyway. By that time, Garoppolo with be throwing again, if the surgery was successful, and a deal can be made.

Also, with not having a #1 or #2 pick to sign, and the near-certainty they won't be drafting 9 players, they will have plenty of money to sign the rooks when they need to.

Yeah, I think there is a good chance we can trade him once he's throwing again. Some team with an iffy Qb situation will be tempted to possibly trade for him. Though, I don't know if someone is going to want to take on that $27M.
Haha people wanting Lynch to say the exact opposite what he did and losing their s**t 10x worse than before. Funny.

You need to see a counselor.

You don't root for sacks against Seattle? WTF?
No team is making a deal for this guy when during the draft or during TC. It's just pure hope from posters praying they didn't botch this trade. It's rare that a qb is traded during TC. by that time most teams will just stick with the cheaper in house route b/c he's already been in the playbook for months. especially when you are just bringing in a average qb like Jimmy. He's gonna be on the roster next year in my opinion.

I don't have an answer to any of your questions. *surprise*

What I do know is that the shoulder capsule is a large group and any injury in one place may have a greater or lesser impact than an injury in a different area. Think of the capsule as a sleeve that fits over the end of the humerus (arm bone) and attaches to the shoulder blade. In order to function well, all areas must have the correct tension in order to throw well. Garoppolo's injury obviously was sufficient to reduce his ability to throw. The question then is; did the surgery restore that balance? No one will know until he starts to throw again.

I doubt it. Why would we wait all that time and not wait another few weeks to get compensation?

I mean it's not good for us but it's funny.

I haven't met one person who said Jimmy G was a crown jewel unless it was during that end of 2017 period

We also know that some people heal faster while others struggle with the same surgical procedure. I've known people that had knee surgery and recovered quickly and others that continues to have issues. One thing I would be a little concerned with in Jimmy's case is him injuring something else during rehab if he favors that shoulder. He gets hurt so easily that it's a real possibility.
