Unfortunately it won't be close to that.

It will

Nah. I'd be willing to bet whatever you wanted. It's not even a question. His level of player, injury risk, and contract, we will be lucky to get a 3rd.

Called it on page 2 or 3 then the whole thread was homer city.
I think it's safe to say the whole QB situation has been botched.
They overvalued Lance and what they could get for JG.
They traded all those assets for a qb on a rookie contract now will head into year 2 of that deal with an anchor in JG still here.
And finally, they could've gotten Watson, Stafford, or Wilson for the same or less than Lance got.

So here I am again being right, yet getting chastised for not being a homer.

Kyle declines to name Trey the starter at the NFL Meetings.

Naming Trey starter now would be idiotic.

He didn't name a starter till week 1 last season, even though it was pretty obvious Jimmy will be the starter.

It's literally detrimental to do so now. Purely stupid.

I agree - too soon to name a starter.

We're literally trying to pretend Jimmy has value. How does naming him backup help?

It doesn't help - best to wait for him to get healthy and hope someone comes calling.

You mean the same Stafford we tried to trade for but McVay got him first? SEA is gonna trade us Wilson???

And no thanks to 230mil guaranteed to a creep like Watson.

Lynch and Kyle already confirmed what many of us thought. Jimmy waiting a whole month to get his surgery and not be ready for TC screwed us. We would've gotten a 3rd for him most likely. I definitely was wrong when I said 2nd round pick. But I didn't think GMs around the league we're a bigger Jimmy "hater" than me.
Kyle basically said they gotta wait for Jimmy to get healthy before teams will trade for him….

Or they cut him so they don't have to $7.5M

Except that the logic is wrong and Kyle and John are pro poker players. You really think ehhh he's still here we will keep him? With $26m on the line and roster super stars to sign?

The only thing this shows is after five years fans still don't understand how Kyle and the front office roll.
If they have to eat Jimmy being on the team for 2022, that shoulder surgery is the perfect excuse to sit Jimmy behind Trey. Let Jimmy play in the presseason to let other teams know his shoulder is physically good to go. But have Trey start because he has 'caught up' to knowing the offense enough to start over Jimmy. Keeping Jimmy on the bench healthy for potential trade partners.

Risking injury letting Jimmy play then his contract becomes guaranteed.

They give him a pay cut before that happens.

That has to be agreed upon by Jimmy and his agent. They aren't dumb they should know they will not ever have a 20+ million dollar contract on the table.

A bum that help take the 9ers to a Super Bowl and a NFC Championship two seasons later. I doubt the 9ers see that kind of success with Trey Lance.

You are right, They traded 3 1st RD picks to grab a guy they think is worse than Jimmy

What's the matter, is it only okay to hate on and poke fun of Jimmy. Are we all suppose to be happy about the #3 overall pick who's had only one year of starting experience?? You act like Lynch and Shanahan are always right about their drafts, hey I wonder what Mr-handpicked-QB CJ Beathard is doing?? How many teams has Solomon Thomas been on already?? Also what's that dancing cat Dante Pettis up to?? Don't get me starting on Mr second year going on third-Javon Kinlaw, will his knees finally hold up??

You can always follow Jimmy to his new team

And then of course comes this reply. How original.

Obviously, they'd have to agree to it, but I'd be shocked if they don't reduce that $25M to be a backup.
