trade market? There's only one QB left lol...they could possibly be waiting for Jimmy to be cleared before making a move.

This will be his last season as the Panthers coach, IMO

No doubt. A rookie isn't saving his job.

No rookie from this draft class.
Baker is still out there too. Carolina is the only reasonable option at this point for a trade. Best case would be something like a 5th this year and a conditional 4th next year with escalators for staying healthy.

There are no more starting spots open for jimmy anymore. no one will trade for Jimmy's luggage to just be a back up. We will have to cut him later

If they have to eat Jimmy being on the team for 2022, that shoulder surgery is the perfect excuse to sit Jimmy behind Trey. Let Jimmy play in the presseason to let other teams know his shoulder is physically good to go. But have Trey start because he has 'caught up' to knowing the offense enough to start over Jimmy. Keeping Jimmy on the bench healthy for potential trade partners.

Risking injury letting Jimmy play then his contract becomes guaranteed.

They give him a pay cut before that happens.

That has to be agreed upon by Jimmy and his agent. They aren't dumb they should know they will not ever have a 20+ million dollar contract on the table.

Obviously, they'd have to agree to it, but I'd be shocked if they don't reduce that $25M to be a backup.

He will be cut before taking a pay cut is what I'm saying. Once he's healthy he will either be cut or a very long shot traded.

Like you said, they can wait until about training camp, then they have to make decisions. (I think around training camp is where his cap hit becomes permanent).

he has no permanent cap hit unleas he is seriously injured

once he gets cleared his salary is not guaranteed

I believe he would get 1/17th of his salary for every game as the season progresses

He will be cut or traded or...contract restructured (lol) before game 1

Yup, plenty of time. I think NY85 (and you) said about the first week of regular season, that's about five months of time. I'm pretty confident he will be traded by then. Plenty of teams that need good QB's. There is still the reality that the QB crop this year is weak, and while TB12 unretired, no guarantee he will be there again next year (2023), so (for example) even Tampa Bay might be a possibility. (Although that probability is very low).

Great, another bottom feeding team ShanaLynch can rob next year.

You are right, They traded 3 1st RD picks to grab a guy they think is worse than Jimmy

What's the matter, is it only okay to hate on and poke fun of Jimmy. Are we all suppose to be happy about the #3 overall pick who's had only one year of starting experience?? You act like Lynch and Shanahan are always right about their drafts, hey I wonder what Mr-handpicked-QB CJ Beathard is doing?? How many teams has Solomon Thomas been on already?? Also what's that dancing cat Dante Pettis up to?? Don't get me starting on Mr second year going on third-Javon Kinlaw, will his knees finally hold up??

You can always follow Jimmy to his new team

And then of course comes this reply. How original.

Bc all those months of you responding to people with, fake fan! Jimmy hater! was so much more original right

OMG, the Kolohe is toast lol

The boys KS and JL operating from a position of strength and on the same page

KS - "That's why we looked into trading Jimmy, because we obviously believe that Trey can be a starter and we're ready to do that," Shanahan said. "But if we can't upgrade our team in another way, we're not just going to get rid of a good quarterback because we have other quarterbacks on the roster. Quarterbacks are really hard to come by. Some teams don't have any at all, and the fact that we have three that we're happy with, that is a good thing.

"We brought Trey here to be that eventually, and I think that will be sooner than later, but when Jimmy gets his surgery and we can't upgrade our team by getting some good picks until people feel good about that [surgery], I'm all right with that. We're not just getting rid of him to get rid of him. Jimmy is a good player that we all really like as a person and as a teammate, and we're going to wait to see whatever helps the Niners the most."

Love to see it.

My favorite part is how both say we are not going to get rid of a good quarterback. Quarterbacks are really hard to come by. Some teams don't have any at all.

Coach, you just nailed it.

"Oh, here the real kicker, once you do pass your physical. That $7.5M disappears and the only cash you got coming to you is your $1.4M prorated bonus"

Jimmy G: yeahhh your fired lol

"Jimmy you already destroyed your chances of ever getting the $27M or any big contract ever again"

"The best thing we can do is figure out a way to drag this out and hope these guys in San Francisco keep you on the roster next season cause I'm going to be frank based on what I'm hearing no one else wants you Jimmy."

"Hows your thumb feeling Jimmy?"

Jimmy; "Thumbs great Iv'e already started throwing and getting ready for next season, its actually my shoulder that's still bothering me."

"Your shoulder is bothering you? Let's go ahead and have that shoulder looked at by my buddy who's one of the best shoulder specialist in the country, he does all of the shoulder repairs on all of my clients. This will activate your injury clause"

Jimmy; "Thanks bud I see what you did there."

Brilliant!

I have no issue with waiting. The injury and him not getting surgery messed up plan A. Both Kyle and Lynch admitted that.

Now you wait until he's healed up. If still no team bites, that's when you have no choice to release him. No point releasing him now and giving him a free 7 mil.

And there's definitely no point in telling teams that the plan is to release him like some idiots believe.

Like I have said time and again, you're an idiot here just to blow on Lynch's dice...and Kyle's too for that matter. Kyle says above, "Some teams don't have any (QBs) at all, and the fact that we have three that we're happy with, that is a good thing." He literally just said JG, Trey (who has hardly played in the NFL), and Suds, are all QBs they are happy with. At least two of those guys are not even starters in this league currently, based on demand. Kyle then goes on to say the team isn't / wasn't able to upgrade by getting some good picks, clearly attributing said failure to upgrade on JG's cost. JFC. It's coach speak you schnook.
