I would hope Trey will rise to the occasion if he who shall remain nameless is the Backup. These guys should thrive on competition at this level.

So he would just be ok with a $15 million pay cut? Not likely.
For a backup, yes.
I can't see this likely but maybe if after he is cleared and still no one wants him. Maybe then but at much less than 12M.
Exactly.

If he and his agent don't see another team where he has a chance to start and earn his full slary then he might consider it. He already knows the offense and wouldn't need to prove himself elsewhere.
I hope he moves on because after spending all those draft picks on Lance, they need to see if he's the guy. They wasted one year and he needs to see game action. It could easily take him 2 seasons to really learn the offense and feel comfortable in the NFL.
They don't need to see if he's the guy. They need to MAKE him the guy. 1st team reps, game plans tailored to his strengths, giving him a supporting cast.

No

A dude that can't physically throw a football is better than Lance? Ok bud, real smart comment.

The real question is can this thread get to 1,000 pages?

4 more months of Jimmy's rehab should get us there.

What about locker room divided? What about off field distractions having to answer QB questions? How about if Trey struggles in a game having to deal with should we go back to Jimmy questions from the dips**t Grant Cohn? I agree Jimmy is a better backup than just about every back up in the league but it would cause friction for a 2nd year QB who needs to have confidence the team and everyone involved is behind him.
some of the guys who adore lynch and kyle think that we are above a divided locker room. sigh
Yup this is correct. We have too many professionals and too few divas for this to happen.

With some kind of media report coming out every couple days that gets a 20 page frenzy going on here. 2K might be light. Imagine the overreacting when Mayfield is traded.
