What will Jimmy's trade value be in the offseason?

Listen to me here guys, if the FO plans on Trey starting, there is 0% chance they go into the season with JG on the roster. They just can't. You'd have a mutiny in the locker room and the truth is JG is better than Lance right now. Bum arm and everything

The last part is meh but I do agree with you that if Trey is the guy Jimmy has to go.

What do you think happened to his shoulder? It was a small tear in his capsule.
Says who?

Says the GM, shoulder surgeons, and Rapp reported that he should be throwing in advance of TC

Nobody has ever said "small tear in shoulder capsule". Is Rap a Surgeon now? Has he seen the MRI?
No, he his guessing.

We aren't going to plan to have a $27M QB on the bench. Why must this be repeated so many times in so many different ways?

Barrows spoke to a shoulder surgeon (it's in one of his The Athletic articles), who performs that surgery stated after watch the injury happen and how he was still able to throw and play for weeks after said that it was more than likely a small tear in his capsule on the back of his shoulder. Maiocco spoke to a different shoulder surgeon as well. Rapp is just repeating what was told to him by Jimmy's agent more than likely after the surgery. The actual doctor is Dr. Neal ElAttrache, one of the nation's leading shoulder specialists (also did Bosa/Jimmy's ACL surgeries). Said the surgery was a success and he should be cleared around TC (Mike Garafolo said he should be throwing in advance of TC)

You gotta see the MRI to believe it's not super serious?

Whatever it was, it wasn't severe enough for any noticeable difference in his throws when he played. The fact that he was even able to throw leads me to believe it was a small tear and the fact that he tried to rehab it. The MRI results was known long ago, if it revealed a torn labrum or rotator cuff, I highly doubt he would've been cleared to play let alone able to

So a Surgeon who did not do the procedure, has not seen the chart is guessing. Check, got it.
Performs what surgery? What procedure did he say it was?
Yes, I have to see the MRI to determine the extent of injury. Anything else is nothing but a wild guess.
BTW Doctors making a prognosis or diagnosis for a patient that they have never examined is HIGHLY frowned upon by the AMA.

Is the MRI available somewhere online?
I can get behind the statement that if it was a badly damaged shoulder initially, that he would not have been cleared to play.
But, it may have been damaged much more by continuing to play.
Rotator partial tear would be the most common damage when falling on the shoulder like Jimmy did, but I wont make a guess. :)

Hey man I'm just tossing out what was said...the surgeon said that was his best guess when asked about it. edit: he didn't say for sure it was a "small tear" just that in his opinion it wasn't an extensive tear....

So is the procedure minor, as Lynch contends? That depends, said Dr. Bradford Parsons, the chief of shoulder service at Mount Sinai Health System.

Parsons explained that the capsule is the layer of tissue that envelops the shoulder and contains the ligaments that give the joint stability. He said tears can occur in different parts of the capsule and vary in severity.

"How extensive is the damage?" Parsons said. "One capsule tear can be a tiny, little hole and takes one stitch to fix versus a big capsule tear that's ripped off the bone."

Parsons said Garoppolo's description of how the injury occurred sounded like it was a tear to the back of the shoulder capsule. He said repairing it simply involved stitching the tear back together and that it usually takes four to six weeks to heal. From there, a patient's return to normal activity depends on how quickly the shoulder regains strength and mobility.

As for the current shoulder issue, Parsons cautioned that he doesn't know the details, but said the fact Garoppolo continued playing suggested the tear was not extensive.

"I think if it was a really bad injury in his throwing arm, he would have been in so much pain he might not have been able to throw," he said. "It's not like he's lifting a fork. He's doing high-level, highly difficult, incredible things with speed and accuracy these amazing athletes do."

I can't find the Maiocco article right now...but when I find that I will post the content.

Here's the other reports from guys around the league

"It's complicated because Garoppolo is, of course, recovering from a torn capsule in his shoulder," Rapoport said. "Not a torn rotator cuff but a torn capsule. And there's full confidence that he'll be ready to go in time for the season, not even expected to miss any training camp. But he only had surgery this week, so teams are going to want to know everything they possibly can about the medical."

So neither Jimmy's Doctor, Jimmy nor the 49ers have ever said that they expected Jimmy to be ready by training camp.
The "expected to" part has no citation.

Those reports are from either Jimmy, Jimmy's agent, or SF (possibly all 3) that's who's feeding those guys....like Kyle said "I can't guarantee that anybody in the world will be alive Sunday" so yeah expect is the key word. Nothing is 100%
