Panthers GM essentially said there is a possibility they don't extend Brian Burns…#BringMeBB pic.twitter.com/UPGJYxjB3l

Yes there will. Deebo and Bosa's cap hits aren't going to be much higher this yr if extended...go look at Kittle and Warner's deal. People need to understand the difference between and extension and signing a FA.
Perhaps but it would be a pointless rollover. It would go kinda like this...
Deebo 2022 10m Deebo 2023 30m (10m rollover)
Deebo 2022 20m Deebo 2023 20 m (no rollover)
Notice we payout the same either way over 2 years. You rolled over to pay next year what you could just pay this year. These are all totally hypothetical amounts for demonstration purpose only.
At the end of the day any rollover means you didn't spend all you could spend to win it all in 2022 which is dumb imo, when you make it as close as we did last year use that rollover to win in 2022 not to roll into 2023.
You have also destroyed the entire argument that we need to cut JG asap. I've been told countless times that if we don't we can't extend Deebo and Bosa.

Yup, that possibility that Jimmy will be on the roster for 2022 is looking more and more like a reality.

We would pretty much be allowing Panthers to get rid of Sam Darnold and his $18M cap hit. They dont want Darnold and trading him is the only way to get rid of his salary cap hit and get a veteran QB who is better than Darnold. We get their 1st round pick and can probably land a future all-pro like Kyle Hamilton, Sauce Gardner, or one of the many top-notch OTs and ERs.
Yeah the #6 overall pick would beat the two 2's we have on the table no doubt. Let's see if we can get multiple 1's before we pull the trigger tho. And Burns for NYNiner.

Not a great comparison. Montana was a 2 time SB winner and an icon when the Niners got Young. Steve hadn't proven himself in the NFL but he had a stellar college career. Jimmy has been okay but hardly a future HOF players and we don't know yet about Trey. He doesn't come with Young's credentials.

Just an invocation of something isn't a comparison. Obviously he's not saying the two are on par with two HOFers. He's invoking a principle that being strong at the position isn't a bad thing it's a good problem to have. He is correct imo.
