Who do you want starting against the Rams?

i really don't know.

Does a banged up Jimmy really give us a better chance than a Rookie Lance?
Our secondary
If Jimmy is healthy enough to throw the ball without any restrictions i'd go with him. His quick release and experience puts him over Trey for me.

Now if Jimmy has restricts then i'd go with Trey.
I was encouraged by Trey's game against Houston.

With that said, apparently 79% of WZ'ers just don't get it.

Sure. The BEST case scenario possible is Trey starts and balls out in a blowout W and already single-handedly proves he's undoubtedly the future.

The odds of that happening are not great, however. Odds are he'll still be shaky at times and be much slower than Jimmy throwing over the middle. I'd say a little more prone to making mistakes but I'd say he's about equal to Jimmy at this point in that department.

The reason why Jimmy would be better for this game is simple: Jimmy is great at throwing it quickly over the middle, and that's the Rams' weakness. Trey is much slower at it right now.

Maybe 79% of the WZ is taking into account Jimmy's thumb and how playing with it could totally screw us over if it's as bad as they think? I've got nothing else.
I don't want to jinx the Niners and I hope I'm wrong but I don't see them getting far in the playoffs (assuming they get in) There's a good chance they'll have to face the Bucs in Tampa in the first game so it could easily be one and done.

That's another reason I want to see Trey against the Rams. He needs as many starts as he can get since he'll be the likely starter next season. A season ending game against a good team that's fighting for the division title and then a playoff against the defending SB champs would be great experience, win or lose.

trey..
My perspective is I would love to make playoffs but I'm highly confident we wouldn't make NFC championship regardless of who the QB is. Our secondary is such a glaring hole that playoff QBs will exploit them continuously.

Given that, I say start Trey. Win or lose against the Rams, it will be valuable experience for him. If we win all the better for him and his confidence and possibly he could get playoff XP as well.
Jimmy.

Fair point but you play to win the game. When you're in, anything can happen. The Eagles beat the Pats with Nick Foles.
Some other pro/cons:

Starting TL gives us more to talk about in the offseason
Starting JG could increase his trade value if he's able to win and get us to the playoffs
If TL starts and loses, the fan base may end the season with a bad taste and blaming him (even if not his fault)
Whoever the f**k can play CB! Jesus do they not have masks?

Masks aren't really all that effective for a locker room-type situation and the vaccine has poor performance against the newest strain.

It would suck for him if he couldn't continue the domination of the Rams and it cost the team a postseason berth.

On the flip side, a win would be amazing.

If TL could win, that would be the Ultimate 49ers Legend Starter Pack
