Who do you want starting against the Rams?

Masks aren't really all that effective for a locker room-type situation and the vaccine has poor performance against the newest strain.

We don't fully know that yet, some are claiming that the booster can raise the efficacy to 70% or better (PBS: https://www.pbs.org/newshour/health/how-effective-are-covid-19-vaccines-against-omicron) Still, you have to wonder are we taking all the necessary steps in a time and environ such as this.
I'm switching to Jimmy if he's good to go. I just thought I don't want to send Lance into the offseason with an L (potentially). The Rams D is explosive and they are at home. This may be too big of a spot for him. Or not...who knows. I'd hate to send him out there to get rocked and we have a sour taste in our mouths for 8 months. I'm really thinking logically here and I'm usually positive.

Hopefully he's a boss and gets us into the playoffs. I'll really be sold about him then.

I rather we start Jimmy, I don't want any what ifs had we start trey and not Jimmy. Let Jimmy finish out this season however it goes and if we get the W then he gets to keep playing, if we get eliminated then we get eliminated and this qb controversy can finally end.
If the word we got is true, that Jimmy has a torn ligament in his thumb plus a chip fracture, then there is just no way he can throw the ball where he wants it. Just based on injury hx alone, Trey should start. Jimmy starting because he has the Ram's number…that doesn't count once his throwing hand has significant injury.

I hope Trey doesn't get injured but if he did….i would hope JG would be available but, still, you are asking for a "murkle". (Aka "miracle".)

He's not a new born baby. One lose to the potential division champs and playoff team isn't going to scar him for the rest of his career

A think a healthy Jimmy > a healthy Trey Lance.
But - an injured Jimmy < a healthy Lance.

Given what I know about sprains and that he actually injured the bone too, he won't be 100% by this Sunday. Start Trey, let's find out now - before the draft - what he's made of so that we can use the entire offseason to make him stronger via draft and free agency.

No way you can keep Jimmy *and* Deebo *and* Bosa with the 49ers only 12 million under the cap in 2022.

Trey.

even if we miss the playoffs, it's whatever dude. I'm not blaming a rookie for that.

This team should have took care of business against Seattle or Colt McCoy led Arizona team. For a supposed Superbowl caliber team, these losses were embarrassing. There's no shame in losing to the Rams even though I know we have their number lately, but it means nothing to this upcoming game.

I think it will be hard for Trey to win this game personally because he needs to get the ball out quicker like Jimmy does. Quick release will neutralize Aaron Donald. If there's hesitation, it could get ugly.

Yeah, Trey needs to get rid of the ball faster. Jimmy I'd give the nod to, but he needs to prove, he can throw the ball straight with that bum thumb.

If nick mullens can beat the Rams, then Trey should be able to also.
