SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS at LOS ANGELES RAMS - 2021 Season Game 17

I have no idea what he saw there. Dude was having flashbacks, thinking he was just throwing it up for Megatron again. Really should have just taken the checkdown to the RB who was completely wide open for an easy 5-8 yard gain.

Well if they are even they are leaving. But Ambry runs a 4.3 and OBJ doesn't anymore so I think Thomas was really confident to be able to open the gates and run with Odell. But someone musta busted out that Nintendo duck hunter gun cause that ball was dead.

I honestly think that Stafford just didn't throw a very good ball. That ball traveled 45 yards in the air. Definitely a big throw, but for a guy who's lauded as being one of the most arm-talented guys in the league, I'm actually surprised he underthrew it.

If he gets more air under that ball, it's either a big gainer/TD to OBJ, or it's well out of Ambry's reach.

That's two INTs that he's thrown versus the 49ers where he just chucked it up to OBJ as if OBJ was great at 50/50 balls. He did the same thing in the MNF game.

There's also the fact that NFL teams have figured out that they can throw it up in one-on-one situations because our cornerbacks have given up a lot of DPI's. I do see the logic. Glad Ambry made Stafford pay and it's on film now before playoffs that maybe that's not such a good idea to just throw it up haphazardly anymore.

Great analysis. I can't recall a single play he made yesterday. Kinda like he wasn't even on the field. I recall someone in the gameday thread asking is he even playing, so wasn't just me. But, carry on.

We just do well neutralizing him. But rest assured he is extremely elite

Perhaps. But people say stuff like he's the best player in the game. Or he has a 99 Madden rating one of only a very small number of people with it. I've never seen that from him. I think he's more of a 90 overall on Madden if that makes sense. Nick Bosa > Donald.

Thanks for helping me decide if I wanted to be productive today.

Lol indeed! NFLN is replaying the whole game tonight.

Nice, doing the mic'd up stuff too?

Nice chart but it doesn't reconcile with what just happened on the field. Great players (best in the game) blow up double teams. For example Cooper Kupp even doubled is basically wide open. Lawrence Taylor would be doubled and would blow everything up. Randy Moss even tripled would win.

Donald in this game literally had a play where he's doubled, he then stopped even attempting a rush cuz he knew it wasn't gonna happen so he disengaged and then tried to hop in the passing lane. He did the old George Costanza jump got like an inch off the ground it was hilarious.

Im with you in that I also think bosa is elite but I promise you Donald is an absolute game wrecker. He happens to not do much vs us overall but rest assured he is the best DL in the league and has been for 5+ years. I wish it weren't true but it is

TJ Watt may have taken the crown.

Ultimately if I am a QB I want my receiver to react to the ball in the air and make a play on it. OBJ thankfully for us did not. One on one with Thomas is the kind of stuff Stafford is gonna lob one up on. Need more out of the receiver there. Yes the ball was underthrown but still not sure why OBJ continues to run long after he should have been aware it's an underthrow. I mean Ambry had time to throttle down and make a play...

Stafford throws as soon as he sees OBJ make the strong move up the field. If OBJ ran the correct route it is all on Stafford. (ball so far behind OBJ he didn't even see it when he first looked back). If he ran the wrong route, they both messed up. I'm willing to believe they both choked.

edit: Pretty sure it was just Stafford though
