It's either a lockerroom thing or trey is really not ready.

I think its more Trey is not ready. I know Trey has only started twice but he holds the ball to long. He doesn't have the quick release that Jimmy has. Against the Rams DL, you need to get the ball out quick.

Or could it be, and I know this is tin foil hat territory, Jimmy when healthy is a top 15 qb. When he is locked in can play Luke a top 10 qb.

Jimmy is smart and efficient 90% of the time. To beat the Rams the quick pass to keep the sticks moving is the game plan that works. Jimmy may be the best quarterback in the league for this game plan with his quick release.

Nah I take it back that is crazy talk, this is obviously a plot to bump trade value and make the kid who looked good last week look worse.. .

This season was ride or die with Jimmy from the start. Last ditch effort to try and help that value (IMO) by showing how tough Jimmy is and if we win, Jimmy roughed it out for the team and took us to the playoffs. Of course the flip side is that he could hurt it worse (lessening value), lose the game and Jimmy didn't take this team to the playoffs (also lessening value) or worse and both happens

Kyle has been adamant from day one of minicamp that Jimmy is the starter and Trey is the backup this year and that nothing, barring an injury that physically prevents Jimmy from playing, will change that. We've tried to look for a shift in Kyle's stance all season, but he's never wavered from that.

the plan has always been to start Trey year 2. I think anyone who drafted Trey regardless of capital wouldve done the same thing he just didnt have college experience and was a bit green/raw coming in.

the 49ers reaffirmed this with action and words

But you also risk Jimmy play horribley because of that thumb then what does his trade value do then?
Annoying that we beat the Eagles this year, but they already clinched a playoff spot with at best the same record as us.

Back to being serious. A team and a coach do not care about trade value or contracts or any of that. They are there to win and win now.

Kyle does not give a s**t if Jimmy thumb breaks off today and never plays again. He cannot it because could literally happen to anyone any time.

John cares about, jed may care, the team is there to win and win today.

Kyle cares if Jimmy can be more effective in the game plan that gives the 49ers the best chance to win.

Very concerning. This is a win or go home game. Does shanny expect the run game to work? I don't expect the Rams to allow what happened to them in Week 10 to happen again.

I have yet to see a single game where Jimmy is even slightly injured and he plays great. It has never happened. Hopefully today will be his first one.

This will be the first time where both QBs split reps during the week. I'm guessing Lance will be in the game somehow.

That's how I see it too. Not unless we get so behind, Shany will run it down their throats regardless as our RB group are now healthy. Defense need to limit them early and frustrate them. Let's go!

Almost as annoying as losing to Colt McCoy, Ryan Tannehill, Carson Wentz.

Jimmy has beaten the Rams 5 straight times, so its not a surprise that Kyle wants Jimmy to play. He's part of the formula that the Rams can't seem to solve. Hopefully he's good enough to play effectively, and if not, hopefully Trey can step in before the game has gone to crap and play well.

He looked great in New York last year while literally limping around for the first half.

There is one instance I can think if: @Jets last year. He finished out the game after getting injured. But that game was bad because we lost Bosa and our season was effectively over.
