It's not going to happen, but what if the 49ers won the Super Bowl bc of Jimmy G'

Let's just say Jimmy leaves , who backs up Trey? Josh Johnson again? Bring in Flacci, vet?

if this happens, I'd like Matty Ice to be the backup... then have a young project for the 3rd stringer..

We still have a good team all around, if Baby Face Lance were to slump or still not ready, at least Matty Ice can give us a chance week in and week out..

For how much though?
Oh and as far as this thread is concerned, start a new poll if Jimmy gets us to the finals. Not saying it's going to happen, but if it did the results won't look anything like they look now

divide his salary by 2.5 and spread it between bonus and incentives... he'll always be a Falcon but it's time to be in a better team and situation (IMO)... he's agent should be smart enough to tell him that Lance may not be ALL ready, so why not sign w/SF... he knows darn well that he can make SF better when he plays than starting for Atlanta..

If trey starts next year we are likely not in the playoffs.

The texas game says he's right there, and if this team can keep most of its critical pieces like Arden Key, etc... they have a playoff level team with Trey and his skill set.
I dont wish anything ill towards Jimmy, but he's due for an serious injury next year. We wouldn't have made the playoffs this year without Trey winning at Texas.

IIf we we play the Houston Texans 17 times next year, we're in the playoffs with trey
Disagree.

Trey did a credible job against a playoff team early this year in his first start, and then in his second start, he put the 2nd team out of their misery in the 3rd qtr.

He did a terrible job and got sat down for 10 weeks. He did a better job against houston. Hell do a better job in september but well be lucky to play .500 ball with him in 2022. Imo.
Absolutely love my quarterback.

That said,...we can now lock this thread.

Thank you.

If he can hit wide open Brandon Aiyuk consistently I would disagree with that assessment.

Agree to disagree. Never played for a whole year due to covid. Played at a lower division school. Played against a playoff defense and a playoff team on his first start. He did a very credible job as a NFL *rookie* QB against AZ. Look at how he played on AZ, and the *difference* between that game and the Houston Texas game. Night and day, and he'll have the whole offseason to get better in all phases of the game.
What if he plays like today every game, but we win the SB?

I hope Jed doesn't step in a la Kraft and prevent the Trade. Love Jimmy, but ShanaLynch have already committed to Trey. If it was me, I'd be trading Jimmy because if I don't, I'm losing Deebo, Bosa, and Arden (or it will be extremely difficult to retain all three) without Jimmy's cap space.

He was one hell of a QB today, got to admit, and will definitely miss his experience as a QB. Trey will be fine.

Great first sloppy 2nd, go Jimmy!
When we lose in the playoffs.. It will be because of Jimmy.
