Missed wide open Ayuk for a likely TD that would have sealed the game.

Interception that changed momentum, gave Cowboys a touchdown.

Snapped the ball too early on the 4th down play leading to a drive killing penalty

We can't close games because Jimmy is a liability. You saw it in the Superbowl and it will continue to happen.

if only jimmy can take the ball 90 yards on a must score a TD drive to tie the game with no timeouts and no 2 min warning then go in OT and score again. If we had a QB like that thenw e can close out games
Jimmy is the reason we had to make a miraculous come back in the first place. Dude is a liability.

His last 3 games:
2 TDs 5 picks
QBs like that don't keep their jobs
They don't get paid the kind of money he is making
Our season will end next week and hopefully so will Jimmy's time with the team. He can go be the Eagles QB or a backup somewhere.
This is a bit of a wild thread. Expect to come on here and see people still celebrating the win rather bemoaning the current players and staff.

Every team has weaknesses. A team that went 10-7 in regular season probably has more than the great 49ers teams we've seen in the past. But this team has huge strengths too. Strengths that have got them 9-2 in the last 11 games. Strengths that have seen them succeed in 2 must win games away from home against 3rd and 4th seed in NFC.

Yesterday or against the Rams were not the perfect performances. There was obvious things we'd all like to have seen happen (or not happen). But if your 1st reaction after the last 2 games, and particularly a playoff win on the road to the Cowboys, is to moan about what what wrong then I worry about what you are getting out of following this team (and sports in general). The idea of sports is to celebrate and revel in the big wins. Make no mistake the last 2 games were huge, huge wins. Maybe celebrate them whilst acknowledging that some things might need improving without going overboard on the criticism.

Generally read and don't contribute on here much but a lot of you are taking you preconceived negative opinions and ideas and amplifying them massively, despite the positives of the last 2 weeks.

In repsonse the the opening question: it's all Jimmy G's fault!

I'm not his biggest fan but when a QB has had 2 healthy season's and led his team to a SB in one and, at least, the Divisional Round in the other, then he's probably not a back-up QB. He's 33-14 as a starter in regular season and 3-1 in post season. How many back QB's are in the NFL with that type of record?

The above doesn't means he's a Top 10 QB either. But he's not a back-up. He's a good QB (probably 11-25th based on form) that has some weaknesses. He's not going to carry a team on his back like a Mahomes or Rodgers. But he's definitely an NFL starter and one that a number of teams would currently swap their starting QB for.

I have a suspicion that you know all this already though.

The reason some people complain after a road play off win is because:

A lot fans not only want to win but win pretty. A lot of games don't play out that way though, and our style leads to a lot of ugly wins. Against teams like the Cowboys that want to throw the ball all over the yard, it seems as though we want to muck up the game and win in a gritty fans. When I was younger I used to care if a win wasn't pretty, but now as long as we win I'm good. I will say this though, we will need to play a much cleaner game to win in Green Bay.

And end of the day Dallas is a damn good team, they have studs all over the place and it was a road game in the playoffs.

Got the W and onto GB!

Yes, the aiyuk miss is the reason why we traded up for Lance.

No doubt Trey will make that play 100% of the time even when the receiver flattens out his route while the ball is in the air.

When Jimmy actually starts making that play consistently then we can talk about something else...until then it's yet another weekly WTF moment.

THIS!

Perhaps the question should be "why can't the 49ers blow teams out"? The answer is they aren't good enough.

and there's your answer

Stafford is viewed as one of the best but has 7 picks his last three.

Oh he's certainly due to miss a big one at least once per game. And it can be for a variety of reasons including the receiver. But he does have an M.O. here.

Look, I'm not making excuses for Jimmy, as he certainly has his periodic wtf throw, but we also can't underestimate how his thumb injury may be impacting some of his thows. Bottom line if he's healthy enough to start he's expected to complete those passes. I just I'd offer that as food for thought.

I mean Stafford is 6/7 TD/INT ratio compared to Jimmy's 2/5 ratio. I feel like a lot of Stafford's INT are deep balls vs Jimmy's which are shorter.

Whatever end of the day, we lived and died with Jimmy in 2021.

Yeah that one wasn't because of the WR either...all you got to get is get it in catchable range, he was wide open, no excuses for that miss IMO.
