Grep Pappa was just saying how he felt bad for the Packer fans as he was leaving the stadium and driving through town. I can see where he's coming from. I've been a Niner fan for nearly 70 years and I have seen more games than I can count. I love this team. I hate it when they lose. But once the season is over, I switch over to the Warriors and start thinking about baseball. Some fans start getting their golf clubs cleaned up. I other words, we have alot of options in the Bay Area.

Green Bay is a remote desolate place. Small town of 200,000 people with nothing to do in the winter except Packer games. They aren't just fans. They own the team. They truly live and die with that team. To go into that game as the #1 seed and lead the entire game only to lose because of a blocked punt will torment them for years. They were 4 minutes away from hosting another game and then boom. Lights out. I think the team was just as stunned as the fans.

Being a Bay Area guy has been a blessing for a sports fan. So many teams and so many titles. Just glad I wasn't born and raised in GB.

Damn, you're right. Something I hadn't even considered.

Don't get me wrong, I don't like the Packers at all, but it sucks for the fans. I felt really bad for Tom Grossi, I watch his stuff on YouTube all the time. He was so heartbroken.

To be honest though, I wouldn't have it any other way. Better them than us. But doesn't mean I don't feel for them. Go Niners.

What is this compassion for opposing fans bs? It's a football game, not some natural disaster. They'll be fine.
It's called empathy, lol. It's not a bad thing, it really is a gift. The way I see it, fine hate the f**k outta the team, and if one of their fans wants to get dirty about it, then fine, f**k them too. But, we are all still human beings, and we all feel the same joy and despair. I only go hard on folks that ask for it. I don't get off on being immersed in schadenfreudal ectasy. But I'm an old guy, and was a fan before social media let you talk s**t to someone from the anonymity of the interwebs. When I was growing up, if you talked mad s**t, it was to someones face, and fists flew and more than feelings got hurt. Man, the internet has changed this world, somewhat for the better, it made folks a lot more "brave" than when you had to back up your words with actual actions, which might cost you a beatdown. This world could use a lot more empathy.

A true warrior does not fight because he hates those in front of him, but because he loves those behind him...

Huh? I didn't talk s**t to anyone.
If a fan wanted to "get dirty about it" I'd tell him to chill it's just a football game.

Nah man, it ain't like that at all. Wasn't really directed at you man, just an observation of how things have changed in 40 years in general. I haven't ever seen you lose your chill.

Not sure if people remember, but one of the main reasons Rodgers one his only SB was Green Bay's defense. when Clay Matthews was almost unstoppable, AJ Hawk was flying around. Rodgers was great, but not the legend status he is now. No matter how good a QB is, still needs a TEAM to win. If he didn't have that D, he would currently have Dan Marino status. Instead he has Drew Brees status.

It is a team game, you win as a team, you lose as a team. I do not understand folks who cannot grasp that single, simple concept.

Damn, dude needs to chill out a bit lol.

It's not as bad as this Seahawk fan's reaction to the goal line interception though:

Lmao I remember this. Fortunately since he's a Seahawks fan, zero brain cells were lost

This makes me feel like a more stable fan ..Holy chit

He only has one SB because Jay Cutler pussied out at halftime in the NFCCG and decided to spend the second half on an exercise bike. The Packers had to play against a backup QB and Rodgers only threw for 60-70 yards in that second half but Chicago couldn't muster up any offense.

Jay Cutler was an idiot…

Nicely said. My was just talking about something that the Niners announcer related on his show yesterday. Fans are the same everywhere but after the game there is always one side that's not happy and one side that's going crazy. We've had our share of both. We talk about every play over and over until we're talking in circles. Papa was just mentioning another side of the game experience.

I get what you guys are saying. I feel like I have compassion when it's warranted, just not for a loss when it comes to sports. "Sorry for your loss", when it comes to sports sounds weird to me. I'm more likely to point and laugh at the losing team's fans - likewise, I can take it too. You guys are better than I am.

Kyle and Kittle said this may have been a touchdown. In a game where big plays were hard to come by, this could have been a big miss. Please let's not go over ball placement again. That has been talked about already. Perfect playcall against this coverage to get Kittle 1v1 with no help to the Post - Deebo occupied the field safety.
