SF 49ers at LA Rams Pregame Thread - 2021 Season NFC Championship Game

Yup, I agree.

If we pull this one out, I want them to hype up the Chiefs like they did the Patriots in 2007.

Who knows, maybe it would benefit the 49ers if the Chiefs blew out the Bengals, get them too cocky or something.

What's interesting is that I believe in our last SB we were underdogs but not massive ones.

If the rematch goes down, I am pretty sure we will look like longshot dogs in the eyes of the media.

Objectively speaking, I think the only big improvement of KC versus the last time we played them is maybe less hero ball from The Smirk.

In some ways I feel like maybe we have slightly less firepower than last time (on the defensive side maybe), but schematically I think the defense has improved, the DL has more rotation, and the mentality of the team is a lot better.

It's kinda like the difference between 2013 and 2011 49ers.......if we had 2013 mentality versus Giants, we would have definitely beat them.

What a crappy comparison. I'm sure those women had more qualifications than "looks hot on TV".

Those shows are still trash. For me its like, would I rather watch some talking head who only cares about fantasy stats or watch someone with actual knowledge of the game break it down as it unfolded? A lot of those women are brought on to look cute but don't know squat about the game that they get paid to talk about. Men tune in to drool all over their tv screens. "Oh, I like her cause she's cute and talks positive about my team". Sorry but television in general is garbage and is meant to act upon your impulses.

She does more than just those AM shows though...she done broadcasting for NFL games. She has her pod. She does analytic shows for ESPN etc.

Do you think Mina is some sexy face? I mean she's not ugly but she's not there just as a pretty face IMO. I listen to her talk about football and overall is pretty knowledge. I'm sure everyone would think differently of her if she said he was great, let's keep s**t real.

Mina is a very smart lady. I think she said a stupid take but that's what media tends to do...they blow up a take that is based in logic and go with hyperbole spin on it which can incite the reaction that she got.

Garcia also had a point because he's reacting to Mina's comment. Saying Jimmy didn't do anything is a trash take. There is a lot that goes into playing QB in the NFL and it's not always about passing numbers or big plays down the field.

It's one thing if you want to say Jimmy is a game manager who is asked to not make a lot of mistakes and run the offense but he still has to run the offense.

How many big throws do we have to see him make late in games to help us get the win or on 3rd down to keep drives going before we admit that he plays a part in helping this team win?

Yeah I didn't agree with her take about "Jimmy is like the dude that did nothing in the group project but got an A" (something like that). To go with that analogy, Jimmy is like the dude that did little during the research portion of the project, then shows up on the day of the presentation and knocks it out of the park.

I don't know. Like I said. Who is she? Also like I said. I don't watch hot take shows anymore. All the other female analysts that I have seen were cute but mostly uniformed.

There was one that I actually liked because she was actually analytical. I believe she's still around. Her name is Cynthia Frelund.

I told you what she is...it's not just SAS hot take show stuff. Mina is very similar to Frelund. Just on ESPN not NFLN. People getting all uptight with someone that has literally been pro SF all yr is silly. End of the day it means nothing.

What exactly are her credentials? According to her wikipedia, She is a business reporter that was hired by espn in 2014. She grew up a Seahawks fan and was a color commentator for the rams this last preseason. How exactly does that make her qualified to break down s**t. That's my problem with her, and I believe Garcia's problem with her. And it will be my problem with anyone who lacks the history and experience.

I'm not a chef but I still have an opinion about the entree the restaurant cooks me. Is that the same thing?

You pick your own meals. I don't need to know what you ordered. I'd like to know what a chef ordered, however.

What I meant is, if a meal is terribly cooked, can I make a comment on it, or am I not allowed to because I'm not a chef? No need to reply, it's getting off topic.

Ok last comment. Everyone can have an opinion. I have an opinion. Some idiot in green bay Wisconsin has an opinion. Mina kimes has an opinion. Nick Wright has an opinion. Minas opinion, along with the others mentioned , have little to no value.

While I appreciate that you believe you had a terrible meal, i would want a chef to tell me what went wrong with the meal prep. Or what went right, and that you just are bashing a Michelin starred meal.

Really? Or are you just trying to start an argument? Please tell me how they are more qualified for their job than she is for her job. Especially since she isn't hot LOL.

49ers (+3.5) at Rams

MDS's take: The 49ers had the Rams' number this season, blowing them out in Week 10 and punching their ticket to the playoffs with an overtime thriller in Week 18. But I expect the Rams' defense to play well against a 49ers offense that escaped Green Bay with a win despite playing poorly. And I expect Matthew Stafford to spread the ball around well, and for Cooper Kupp and Odell Beckham both to top 100 yards. This Rams team looks destined for the Super Bowl.

MDS's pick: Rams 28, 49ers 24.

Florio's take: Great teams are made up of great players who are playing great. The Rams have great players who, until recently, hadn't been playing great. They currently are. It will be more than the 49ers can handle, but not by much.

Florio's pick: Rams 24, 49ers 21.

these MFers never learn. Next their both gonna pick the Chiefs in the Super Bowl.

f**k the Rams!!! Let's f**kkkkkin go!
I'm not gonna exaggerate anything. I think you all know I don't go in for the hyperbole. But this upcoming game will be the biggest game in the history of the San Francisco 49ers. It has the magnitude of 10 Super Bowls.

All the talk about, "don't sell tickets to 49ers fans", just made 49ers fans want to get tickets. If the crowd is red and loud, it could demoralize the Rams.

Indeed. The moment the Rams FO pulled this s**t, I knew 49ers fans would respond. Thankfully Ticketmaster changed their mind, though it wouldnt have mattered.

That is why the authentic youtube content is so much better. Even if every channel is biased toward one player or another. If you spend your time watching 4-5 of those channels instead of watching espn, nfl network, etc. I'd think everyone here would have a well rounded opinion. Which would subsequently improve the content here.

Forio is just a joke. He doesn´t understand anything about this sport. Everyone hates him even the Vikings fans. It blows my mind that this guy is featured on NBC.
Is it Sunday yet?
House money.

Yup. If we win, top 15-20.
If we don't win, footnote.

NFCCG The Catch, #1, nothing close.
