Tampa is a shell of the SB team. They didn't run the ball, like I think they could've. So the rams D just pinned their ears back knowing it was mostly passes. Tampa's coverages were simplistic, and guys were blowing assignments constantly. So Stafford was basically hitting guys wide open. And they still almost lost! But somehow now Stafford and the rams are the greatest thing since sliced bread? Give me a break!

Thats because the media thinks football is a one man show like the NBA. The NFL has spent 20+ years trying to obliterate defense but here come the gritty ass 49ers with their defense and running game ruining their Monday morning story lines. Let em hate. I love being the underdog and I think the players do to.

I heard a guy form LA talking about how the Rams have the superior talent on offense and defense. He thinks the 49ers are a tougher, grittier team but he still thinks theRams will win with their superior talent.

On offense the Rams may have some bigger names but I'm not sure they have better talent. Stafford is better than Jimmy. Beckham makes some spectacular plays but I'll take Deebo over him. Kittle is better than their TE. Our O line is better as a group than theirs. So they may have big names but not necessarily better talent.

Now the defense. They have Donald, Ramsey and an old Von Miller. All bif names. The Niners have Bosa as their biggest name guy bi=ut overall the D line is much deeper than the rams. The Niners LBs are way better than the Rams and the secondary as a group may be just about as good. Overall the Niners D has performed much better than the Rams.

So superior talent for the Rams? I don't really think so. Just more household names.

Why compare the WR to the WR, and the TE to the TE? Compare the WR to the CB, and the TE to the LB etc.

I was just pointing out that we have guys at the same positions as they do that are just as good ot better but they aren't household names, other than Bosa. That gives the impression that they are a more talented team. I'm not saying they are. I was just referring to the guy from LA.

Got it. Both teams have are loaded with talent. Rams are top heavy whereas the 49ers are well rounded top to bottom imo.

I've been coming to a similar realisation myself. I'd be interested to see a production comparison between our DL and theirs over the past 10 games or so.

In that case. I think Deebo and Kupp are a wash. At this point in Beckam's career, I would take BA over him. I gues the only rams offensive weapon I would take over ours would be Jefferson over Jennings.

On early downs in score-neutral situations, the 49ers have run the ball a league-high 57.4% of the time. In the two games against the Rams, that percentage has been even higher. In Week 18, San Francisco ran the ball 73.3% of the time on early downs.

The Rams are a zone-heavy team. They've played zone 77.2% of the time through 19 games; that's the second-highest rate of any team. And they were almost right on that mark (77.9%) in two games against the 49ers.

But no team plays entirely man or entirely zone. And on the occasions when the Rams decided to play man, Garoppolo shredded them, going 12-for-13 for 170 yards (he took two sacks).

When the Rams are in zone, they'll need to capitalize on turnover opportunities. According to PFF, 12 of Garoppolo's 14 interceptions have come against zone coverage. His interception rate against zone is 3.5%, while against man it's only 0.8%.

The defense surprises me a bit. I would have thought the 49ers had an edge there overall.

I don't think that takes into consideration the massive improvement of the niners defense as the year went on. Let's look at the last 8 weeks

Yeah, we're playing our best football the last few weeks. I understand the talk that we're playing house money. F that, we deserve to be in the playoffs and that's without any help from other teams to get in. Sure, we started slow this season and I attribute some of that to getting familiar with Demeco's style on defense and players stepping up on both sides of the ball. We belong in this "dance". We're a win away to play in the Superbowl and I'll be disappointed if we fall short on that goal especially against the Rams.
