One thing that bothers so much about our offense, and I do t know if this a Kyle thing or a jimmy thing or a wide receiver thing.
Nobody seems to ever be open. Every catch is contested. The only play that seemed like a huge play was the kittle airmail.
The rams had guys open all f**king day. It was actually embarrasing.
So what is it? I watch the rams offense and I was in awe of the nfl passing attack. I don't know if that changes with Trey, or it will continue to be a gadget gimmick offense.

Even if tartt intercepts the ball, the offense was sputtering and couldn't do anything. Who's to say Jimmy doesn't throw another INT. It's Trey lances time now and hopefully Shanahan can develop him and coddle him like he did for Jimmy especially with way more talent.
I'm excited to see Trey develop. He got better since the Cards game. Now he has the whole off season to get better. We need the QB position to be an asset not an anchor like with Jimmy. We need someone that can punish a defense for playing 8 or 9 in the box like the Rams were doing all game daring Jimmy to beat them with his passes. The run game will open up more when teams respect our QB. DC's know Jimmy doesn't throw more than 20 yards so it makes it easy for them.

Yeah, I kinda noticed that too. Feels like our zone is pretty soft and even Aikman was saying certain plays were there every time for the Rams if they wanted it. Yet, our catches always feel so contested.

Playoff record:
Bill Walsh 10-4
Kyle Shanahan 4-2
Marty Schottenheimer 6-13
Seems like Kyle is mich closer to Bill Walsh than Marty Schottenheimer
Except Bill would have already won a SB and at similar points in their careers would be going into his second SB season while Marty never won one so technically Kyle is closer to Marty than he is Bill.
If you want to play this game:
First 5 seasons as a HC:
Bill Belichick: just 1 playoff appearance, playoff record 1-1
So Kyle is much better than Bill Belichick. I would take that.
Except BB already had two rings as a DC on the side of the ball that was most responsible for his teams wins and Kyle ...well he blew his shot to win one as an OC.
BB also won one on his 2nd coaching stint and if Kyle ever gets there I have my reservations it's going to be here. He's already going into his 6th season and it's looking like it full go with a 21 year old kid who's only had 2 starts.
Ok, so factor all those in, Kyle is only slightly better than Bill Belichik. Ok, I would take that.

I STILL can't believe the media hasn't made a bigger deal of all the expired play clocks the Rams got away with. If I'm York and Lynch, I'm on the phone with league offices about that b******t. It wasn't just barely, either.

I'm not sure Tbh, but using the best TE In the league as a blocker doesn't help.

At least for a majority of the plays.

It seemed like DeMeco changed things up so that it would be different being that it was the third time the two teams played this season, whereas Kyle's offense didn't seem to do anything different.

This stings. I was only 9 when they won in 94 and all I've wanted was to see one at an age where I could better/actually appreciate.
2011, 2012, 2013, 2019, 2021.
Each one seems to get harder. Just one of those years with a trophy would take away the sting. Instead it's like groundhog day and continually magnifies.

DeMeco has gained my respect. Incredible year.

Andy Reid and Bill Cowher took FOREVER to finally win a SB and their fanbases love them. Hell even the Eagles fanbase, for the most part, feel like they gave up too soon on Reid when they canned him (I know Chiefs Kingdom is down on him in this reactionary moment because of yesterday).
Shanahan may take a long time to win one, but I am certain he will win us a SB. Even if it is just one.

Yea at the end of the day if you hold Dallas to 17, GB to 10, and Rams to 20 that is great defense. Yesterday was not on the D at all. The offense should have been able to score 21 points yesterday. Just a sad what could have been day

LMAO. So perfectly said. And we still should have won.
