There were a lot of open receivers in this game and the QB didn't pull the trigger nearly enough. Not all easy throws but ones your QB has to make. There were a couple nice plays but this thread is about the misses

Absolutely great post, pics & video evidence there to show Jimmy wouldn't take the throws that the Rams were giving him. Aiyuk should have had a monster game & this game should have never been that close.

we knew this was going to happen at some point and cost us a chance at a SB. Just be grateful he isnt the starting QB anymore

Damn looking at the game its hard to criticize Kyle if his qb isn't making the right reads. Trey doesn't seem to afraid of pulling the trigger so hoping he able to make the right reads next season

And btw. An offensive line that couldn't open up the running game all game long except for maybe one run by Mitchell and a couple by Deebo and had our less than uber athletic quarterback running for his life as they were beat off the snap on almost literally every single snap.

It's a good thing he's going to be gone. But I hope if/when Lance takes over next year he doesn't have to deal with half the crap Jimmy did.

Agree with Ohio here. If OL isnt fixed at RG and RT , plus maybe C (or guy in pipeline) , then Trey isn't going to fare any better than JG . It is just hard to understand how we can have an OL that can't protect our QB, and then we replace the QB but not the OL? Hopefully, that all gets taken care of this FA and draft.

Also, maybe we find out that Banks IS what he appeared to be at ND, and is a bona fide starter, along with Jaylon. Moore. And McKivitz…was his one game replacing big Trent a one off, or can he do that all yr long? JL and KS know answer to these questions which we don't, but Trey is DOA as THE QB if we don't get R Side of OL fixed and a good replacement for Mack . He was getting beaten routinely in our final game…something i don't recall seeing before. Of course having a RG that isn't 3 yards back in JG's lap after the snap would help also.

I liked JG, i admired him, but we need better at QB. Just hope Trey is the one. But sans an OL that protect him, he won't be much improvement. We gotta , have to, get our OL fixed. Pray for Banks , Moore and Mckivitz, but we need a stud in FA + a gem in draft…easier said than done.

I like it! And, this team just hired Anthony Lynn as Assist. HC...from Schefter: Anthony Lynn is being hired as the Assistant Head Coach of the San Francisco 49ers, per league sources. Lynn - who had other NFL and college offers - is expected to now be a key cog in the 49ers' offense and run game.

But regarding "Trey isn't going to fare any better than JG," well that got us to the NFC Championship game, so if Trey is a net 0, then this is still a championship contender. All we need Trey to do is not mindlessly turn the ball over and get a few key first downs.

Trey will throw it if he sees it, but that's the issue. He does seem to come out hesitant, but that could just be jitters from a lack of experience. When he's playing on pure instinct, he's a force.
